A Fact

• It’s a distinctive raptor found throughout North America from Baja California and Florida all the way to Alaska and Newfoundland.

Where do they migrate?

• The eagle can migrate anywhere from Northern Mexico to Northern Canada

Baby eagles…

come out of the eggs with their eyes open.

At 11 to 12 weeks they leave the nest but they can’t fly very well.

What do they look like in the first year?

• They usually looked brown-feathered in their first year.

What do eagles prey on?

• Eagle usually prey on fish, small mammals, snakes, and small reptiles.

• The term eagle eyesight is because of the eagles great eyesight.

• It was chosen as the national symbol of the United States in 1782 because of the birds long life, great strength, and majestic looks.

• It was an endangered species but its population has rebounded and is now considered threatened in the lower 48 states.
