Images - The images on this page are all laid out in similar ways. All the images of single people seems to be looking directly at the reader, making them feel more involved with the magazine.

Picture boosts - These are used to relate to the articles in the magazine. The main one of Slash has the page number where the article is located on it.

Columns - These clearly set out the different page references and makes the page look neater. Each one has a sub heading which is designed to catch the attention of who ever is reading it.

 

Sub headings - The articles are organised with sub headings. Each sub heading has the appropriate page numbers and some information about the articles on the page, this makes it easier for the reader to locate the information they need quickly.  Drop shadows - Drop shadows are only used once on this page. The image on the left third has a shadow to make it stand out on the page and add a three dimensional affect to the image, this makes it more interesting to look at and engages the reader’s eye. 

Large number/text - The annotation on the picture of Slash is a large number and his name. The number is the page article which contains more information of him. This is handy for the reader as they can skip straight to that page without having to look for it. They also have put Slash’s name on the annotation, this is used to show his importance in this issue.
