First of all, I would like to thank everyone for their warm welcome to me to Gunther
Village and into the Gayndah community. It is clear that Gunther Village is a very
important part of the Gayndah community and a justifiable source of pride for you all.
The recent Annual General Meeting provided an excellent opportunity for me to meet
members of the Gunther Village community in a more informal atmosphere. This well
attended event emphasised for me the passion which you all have for Gunther
Village. It was great to provide recognition for those staff who have gained various
qualifications during the past twelve months, and thanks to the Board for committing
to ongoing education. Also, congratulations to the catering team, led by Jason and
Jenny, for putting on another spectacular night. Obviously, the Gunther Village AGM
dinner is an event everyone looks forward to all year!
Just in the last few days, we have received the official certificates for the renewal of
our Aged Care Accreditation for another three years until October 2018, following the
three-day audit conducted in July. These are proudly displayed in the foyer as
confirmation of the successful accreditation outcome. It is a real credit to everyone
who works here at Gunther Village that we continue to operate with an unblemished
reputation. It also provides confidence to families that their loved ones are being
looked after in the best possible way on an ongoing basis. Of course, the challenge
for all of us is to maintain this standard every day in every aspect of our operations,
for the benefit of our residents.
I look forward to getting to know everyone better over the next few months, and
working with you all to maintain and continue to improve the level of care we provide
to our residents.

Activities New Cont:
Day Trip to Girraween Gardens - Childers From time to time , the Lifestyle team organise outings for the residents of Gunther. These trips vary, from
taking the residents out for Fishing Trips to Paradise Dam to Mystery Outings with Jenny . This Particular day
the Residents were taken to the beautiful Girraween Gardens in Childers.
The residents all enjoyed a lovely morning tea,
provided by the owners of the Girraween Gardens.
They also had a tour of the displays set up within
the gardens. The display included old machinery,
a horse drawn cart and various items from an era
that is quite familiar to our residents. This ignited
conversations of reminiscent times. This is the
second time residents have visited the gardens
and won’t be the last as this is now a popular
destination.
