STATIONS OF THE CROSS FRIDAYS
3:00 to 4:00 p.m.
TUESDAYS 6:00 to 7:00
Question of the week: What “burial bands” restrict the Spirit within me and need to be untied? Am I sometimes guilty of selfishness, dishonesty, deceit, exclusion, or mean-spiritedness? Am I willing to overcome these barriers to the Spirit?
In the Gospel today, Jesus says, “Whoever serves me must follow me, and where I am, there also will my servant be. The Father will honor whoever serves me.” When we help the poor, we are truly
followers of Jesus, servant of the poor. As you discern your donation to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, know that you are a sign of God’s love to those who are suffering and you give them Easter hope and joy.

Mass will begin OUTSIDE with palm branches in our hands. We will process, in imitation of our Lord’s entry into Jerusalem, into the church with songs of praise.

ENCOUNTER ALEFA
Alefa is a mother, grandmother and farmer. She provides for her three children, three grandchildren and husband by selling her crops. If they fail during one of Malawi’s rainy seasons, or in a drought, her family goes hungry. One particularly difficult year, Alefa was forced to sell some of her land to make ends meet. She attended a CRS-sponsored seed fair, where farmers learn the best crops to plant for the upcoming year. “This harvest will provide food, shelter, and education for my family,” she says. In a few short months, Alefa will be growing corn and harvesting hope.
I’M NOT BEING FED CD - $3.00 Jeff Cavins explores and responds to some of the reasons why so many people have left the Catholic Church for evangelical Christianity. As he
presents the story of his return to Catholicism, Cavins also builds a case for why the Catholic Church is the Church founded by Christ.

PRAYER PARTNERS At the front and back entrances of the Church, you will find Prayer Partner Cards for our Faith Formation students who will be receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation on May 23. LOVE BEGINS HERE
The week of June 11-15, a group
of high school missionaries are coming to Saint Cecilia to serve our community.
We are looking for neighbors who
might need help around the house (anyone can be served, not just from our parish).
IF YOU KNOW SOMEONE WHO
MIGHT NEED HELP, CONTACT THE PARISH OFFICE OR DAVE KORDELL FOR AN APPLICATION.
HELP WITH CONFIRMATION MASS On Wednesday, May 23, at 7:00 p.m., the Sacrament of Confirmation will be hosted at our Church. We are in need of eight persons to help with hospitality on:
Tuesday, May 22, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. to prepare fruit cups, and
Wednesday, May 23, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., to serve the food and beverage after Confirmation.
Contact Dave Kordell at 393-1719 or dkordell@dellscatholic.com if you are able to help. Thank you!
