• Take infinitive: regarder• Chop off –er : regard-• Add endings to agree with subject

JE (I)= -e NOUS (us) = -onsTU (you)= -es VOUS (you) = -ezIL/ELLE = -e ILS/ELLES = -ent (he/she) (they)

La négation

• Put NE & PAS around verb• I do not eat = Je ne mange pas• We do not play = Nous ne jouons

2 verbs

• To say what you want or like to do

• Conjugate first verb only• Put NE & PAS around 1st verb• J’aime manger.• Tu ne veux pas voyager.

-ger ending verbs

• Manger, voyager, nager• Must add “e” in Nous Form to keep

the “g” sound soft• Nous nageons

• Nous voyageons

• Nous mangeons

When to make JE, J’

• When JE is followed by a vowel or vowel sound (h)

• Does not happen with any other subjects!!!

• J’habite• J’écoute• J’invite
