NEW JOINEES
Mr. KAPIL PREMCHANDANIManaging Director
“When the going gets tough, only the tough gets going.
“
Hi everybody,
We take the opportunity of wishing you all and your families joyous and prosperous new year. The Covid
pandemic played out tragically in the last year and jeopardised the survival of many businesses and industries.
We witnessed a sea change in consumer behaviour leading to surge in the growth of online businesses.
Logistics is at heart of digital business and the function became even more critical during these trying times.
Going ahead, Governments worldwide have a mammoth task of vaccinating their population and would probably
be undertaking the biggest and the most complex logistical challenge. Every government is procuring cold chain
facilities, temperature-controlled vehicles, outlining the rollout logistics of the vaccine. There is an ever-growing
awareness about the importance of quality temperature-controlled warehouses, and we are sure this would
lead to huge investments across the entire logistics sector.
Being amongst the largest third-party logistics players in the country for consumer goods, we had a very active
role to play in distributing and storing essential goods, while being 24x7 on our feet. Our people demonstrated
great strength, grit and determination in rising to the challenge and serving the nation. The organization is
taking great care in following the requisite safety protocols.
Despite the global challenges, we saw a lot of positives in the last year as we embarked upon the journey of
commencing operations in the eastern and north eastern part of the country. The organization is working
towards adding a million sq. feet year on year and broaden its presence in the transportation side of the
business. The organization continues to invest in building its own warehousing assets and expand its footprint
in managing in-plant operations.
We believe we are fortunate to witness exciting times in logistics as this sector is finally getting its due from all
the quarters. We would like to thank each one of you for your continued support, without which this journey
wouldn’t have been possible. Last but not the least, we would like to salute all our people who stood tall with us
in these dicult times.
Cheers,
Mr. Kapil Premchandani,
Mr. Shyambhai, Mr. Umesh and
Mr. Vishal Premchandani
A NOTE FROM FROM THE FOUNDER's DESK
Our people demonstrated great strength, grit and determination in rising to the challenge and serving the nation.
01
COMMITMENT THROUGH THE COVID TIMES
The Covid-19 pandemic exposed the vulnerabilities
and flaws in every business. It made us introspect if
we really stand for what we claim to be. Through the
mission, vision and value statements, companies tell
the world who they are and what their business
embodies. These statements act as guidelines that
dictate a company’s culture and work ethics. And
during black swan events like an unforeseen
pandemic, these claims are put to test.
There are three mission statements that KDL
embodies. The first being “Providing reliable &
professional services to our customers”. Despite the
countless restrictions during lockdowns, our
company never went on a back footing and delivered
the best of services. This is evident from the fact that
not even a single client lost their trust in us. Rather,
new clients like Kellog’s and Bombay Shaving
Company joined us right in the midst of the pandemic
in May and June respectively.
The second mission statement of KDL states ‘Mutual,
beneficial and long-lasting relationship with our
clients and partners’. Reckitt Benckiser, one of our
oldest clients, deals in hygiene and many other
essentials products. We handled close to 6 lakh cases
worth of 60-70 crores in the prime months of
lockdown like April, May and June.
Our last mission statement states, “Developing our
sta to deliver the highest level of services”. To
ensure the wellbeing of the sta, we made sure that
every employee’s house is stocked with groceries
and essentials. If any worker needed medical
assistance, KDL took the responsibility of making
medicines available, quick hospitalization and access
to Covid-19 testing. This helped them work in a
stress-free mind frame and give their best.
The first value statement of our company claims
honesty, integrity & fairness in all dealings. In order
to keep our facilities working, we obtained all the
necessary permissions and did not skip a single
formality. We took villagers under confidence to allow
our employees to report to work. We were patient
and professional throughout.
The second value statement is to provide best value
to customer through continuous improvement. After
on-boarding Bombay Shaving Company in May, we
delivered best results through our supply chain and
IT solutions. Being a tech savvy company that mostly
sells its products on an online platform, providing
them services to manage their order flow and
delivery for both online and oine required
sophisticated solutions which were supported by our
latest IT enabled logistics software.
Last but not the least, KDL’s vision statement states
‘To be the most ecient & eective third-party
logistics player in the country’. Without any hesitation
we would like to believe that KDL has lived up to the
company’s vision statement in the toughest of times
and roughest of weathers.

Human resources are the real resourcesMs. Snehal R. ManeHead Human Resource & Corporate Communications
When pandemic hit India by the end of March 2020, we were gearing up for the
upcoming financial year. After KRA setting, etc were getting finalised. However, due to
the lockdown, we had to cancel or postpone our plans as carrying out the usual work
itself had become very challenging.
Since we had essential goods stock in our warehouses, we had to make sure that
there were no glitches in the operations. We had to manage numerous problems like
getting permits for employees to reach oce, operating at 50 percent capacity, etc,
while following safety practices.
Despite the uncertainty and numerous legal and manpower challenges, we simply did
not have the option of lagging behind in our operations in any way. We spread
awareness campaigns to remove misconceptions regarding Covid and boost
employee morale. Right from providing grocery kits, KDL looked after every need of
the employee. Covid testing of employees, hospitalisation of employees in case they
fall sick, everything was taken care by KDL.
Numbers don’t lie andhard work always pays oMr. Shashikant BamneProject Manager
Q1 and Q2 was extremely challenging as there was a
complete lockdown. Yet, we managed to keep the
facilities working.
In May, we took over Kellog’s from its previous
service provider. Despite the lockdown, we went live
with the project and handled the project successfully.
Then we received a project from Dover India which
went live in September and was successfully
executed. Some other projects we undertook this
year were Polycab India Pvt Ltd, Bombay Shaving
Cream, Faces.
Our existing customers like RB, Colgate, Castrol,
Delmonte, Abbott have appreciated us heartily for our
services during this tough period.
The numbers in Q3 and Q4 were the highest since the
last few years. After a rocky start, we have finally
picked up the pace and are doing incredibly well. This
year has been the toughest. Yet, we have achieved a
great feat.
03
“Best Place to Work”
What is life withoutchallenges?
When the country went through a lock down, the
movement of people and goods became dicult. But
our management team wasted no time and worked
tirelessly to attain all the permissions from the local
authorities to ferry workers and supervisors to work
place everyday. Every local authority had to be dealt
with a lot of perseverance and diplomacy. Getting
EPass arranged for workers to commute, arranging
commute to the oces, obtaining licenses and
permissions from local Gram Panchayats to keep
warehouses open, and countless other formalities
was painstaking. We had to convince the village
authorities of local villages to let our sta to come to
work by explaining to them how vital it is to keep the
supply chain running smoothly. We had to rework the
shifts schedules and work schedules as we were
allowed to operate with just 50% of work
force capacity.
The management made sure that the employees has
enough stock of food at home by distributing grocery
kits to all. It feels good to be a part of the company
that cares for its clients, sta and nation equally.
Mr. Suvas KarProject Manager
Mr. Hemant SawantSenior Manager - Operations
When the lockdown was
announced on 23rd March
2020, essential products were
in great demand. Reckitt
Benckiser is one such client of
ours which primarily deals
with hygiene and other
essentials. The services
expected by them during the
lockdown had to be just as ecient as during normal
days. Initially we faced absenteeism as some sta
members were unable to travel due to the
restrictions in movement while some others were too
scared to step out. We conducted awareness drives
and communicated with the workforce on one to one
basis taking them under confidence, we obtained
necessary permits to make movement possible.
The sales numbers we clocked were truly mammoth.
Many companies laid o their sta or imposed salary
cuts, but I feel proud to say that KDL did no such
thing. We incorporated new ways to work within days
keeping social distancing, constant sanitizing and
other safety precautions in mind.
The experience has been challenging and rewarding
at the same time. I am grateful to be associated with
KDL - The “Best Place to Work”.

The game of survivalMr. Samik ChakrabortySr. Vice President - East
Almost everything around us has changed in last few months and we all are going through
a time which exposed us to an unparallel phase of diculties, in our personal and
professional frontiers for which we were not prepared perfectly.
But all is not lost and surely not the hope. The famous quote of Martin Luther King is very
apt in this situation, “We must accept finite disappointments, but we must never lose
infinite hope”.
We all hoped to turn the tide by our side and gradually it is happening now. The world is
grappling with personal and economic crisis and gradually has started bouncing back to
normalcy, working out new avenues of survival and sustenance.
The supply chain professionals always play a key role to ensure the products across the industries are sourced,
stored and supplied eciently. And in an arduous environment, the responsibilities are even higher, as the
innovative and skillful supply chain solutions can not only help many industries to survive but also repair the
economy, adding value further to the daily life of consumers by making things available at their doorsteps.
Those who successfully manage to transform the challenges into opportunities are surely to emerge victorious
in this dicult time. We all need to work more eectively to make rightful observation of the situation, identify
the divergences, make correct plans and act on them, be open to new ideas and opt for the best possible
solutions, optimizing the utilization of all available resources including non-tangibles like our experience,
intellect and skillset.
With disruptions of global businesses and new evolving trends, the opportunity will keep on coming towards
managing the Manufacturing, raw material supply chains, pharma, chemicals and auto components,
electronics and e-commerce where technology will play a key role by integrating the silos and improving
visibility and control with Artificial Intelligence and Robotics.
Team KDL has displayed enormous character and courage to cope with the odds and its indisputable that this
team is going to achieve many more milestones in the coming days.
With a clear objective in place, clarity in thoughts, planning and speed in execution we would surely make an
impact which would help us increasing our business share and footprint in the industry.
05
Logistics in The Times of PandemicMr. Hrishikesh NarayanDirector - Business Development & IR
Over the years Key Performance Indicator for a supply chain manager has been to reduce inventory days to bare minimum, increase eciency and thereby provide cost savings. In this process, supply chain and logistics has become leaner, meanerand fitter.
Cut to 2020 and the worst nightmare occurred in the life of a supply chain manager. Covid-19, an unprecedented disruption took the world by a storm and shook the supply chain industry as a high intensity earthquake would shake the earth. There has been a paradigm shift in supply chain industry and we foresee the following disruptions (some of them are already in place)
1. Production is moving from ‘just in time’ manufacturing to the agile ‘just in case’ manufacturing. Tweaking inventory levels to maintain a reserve against disruptions is the new normal. Businesses are now looking at building resilience and chalking out agile fallback plans.
2. There is a shift from bigger and fewer warehouses to smaller and higher number of storage/distribution locations. The key here is to strike an optimum balance and there by de-risk and mitigate choking of supply chain in the event of any warehouse falling under designated containment zones.
3. During the lockdown, most businesses had no visibility of their stocks as goods were stuck across the country while in transit, in ports and on trucks. At this point of time these lacunae were
highlighted within organisations. The only way ahead was to integrate technology into logistics and increase visibility of goods. Thereby leading to acceleration of technology adoption leading to transformation and digitisation of the manufacturing industry.
4. Logistics players have turned to technology to help them fulfil the growing demand. With contactless and OTP-based deliveries, brands are taking their businesses online and leveraging technology to mitigate the risk and ensure both customers and employees are safe.
5. Logistics aggregators are also assisting in generating new revenue streams for local kirana stores by bringing them online and partnering with some of the giants in the ecommerce logistics space to improve end-user experience. For eg. Zomato and Swiggy both had rolled out grocery and vegetable delivery service.
6. With the vaccine around the corner, there will be increased demand for cold chain logistics and requirement of infra at import export terminals, storage and distribution network
A supply chain business is no longer just about moving packages; it has become a part of key business strategy, to be discussed at board meetings. Logistics now dictates production, sales and marketing plans.
LEADERSHIPSPEAK
06
We had a fabulous start to 2020, as we celebrated our
long associations with our clients like Procter &
Gamble, Mondelez and Reckitt Benckiser. We raised a
toast to celebrate how far we have come as a
company and also acknowledged the good times that
lie ahead. Little did we know then what 2020 had in
store for all of us.
2020 unleashed our inner strength, tenacity
and courage.
The pandemic was something we were not prepared
for. It was a war-like situation, with curfew, lockdown
and strict restrictions on movement. Our facilities
were flooded with essentials like medicines, masks,
hand sanitizers and other hygiene products, food and
staples, and they had to be supplied to the citizens of
India. Understanding the gravity of the situation and
the pivotal role supply chain has in these
unprecedented crises, our army of KDL Warriors
unanimously decided that we won’t stop the
operations and serve the country in every possible
way we can. Right from the word “attack”, our army
bravely stood steadfast, obtaining all the necessary
permissions and approvals to enable our
facilities to work 24*7. Risking their own
life and even that of their families, our
team and employees put a brave
front and reported to work
An Army for the CountryMr. Bhaskar RaoDirector - Operations
‘Duty before self’ was the motto our company embodied every day for the many months of the pandemic.
every day, adopted new ways of working
incorporating extreme hygiene and social distancing,
worked overtime on multiple days, helped and cared
for fellow colleagues during the roughest of days.
Were we scared? Honestly, we had no time to sit back
and think about it. With masks as shields, trucks as
tanks and our warehouses as garrisons, we felt like a
small troop of army making sure our country gets all
the necessities delivered.
The courage that our team displayed during these
tough times is incredible. I have never been prouder
to call myself a KDL-ite. I thank you all from the
bottom of my heart for serving the nation selflessly
during such times.
Our bonding as a team is stronger than ever, the
purpose we feel of our work is greater than ever and
we have more conscience than ever.

KDL was awarded the
Shoppers Stop’s brick and
mortar business in 2011. After
successfully managing this
business, we were awarded the e-commerce
business for the company, by SSL. This was the first
time ever that an e-commerce business was
introduced at our company.
The operations began with an independent DC of
22,000 sq. ft. and a dedicated inventory to support the
operation. To leverage the brick-and-mortar
inventory for the online customer, we merged it with
the e-commerce inventory, thereby successfully
meeting all the requirements of Shoppers Stop.
We started with 50 orders but after the addition of
Amazon Seller Flex and MAC Cosmetics our orders
shot up to as high as 4,000 orders per day. We even
maintain a 100% TAT rate by ensuring that all the
orders received on the portal, till 2pm, are handed
over to the courier partners, on the very same day.
With recent addition of MAC, we have seen an
increase of another 500 orders per day to our DC. For
MAC, our team has achieved a single day order
processing of 4,000 orders.

COVID Precautions on Shop Floor
Mock Drill – Mondelez Depot
It is our team of “Warehouse Warriors” who worked
tirelessly to ensure all the operations happen
smoothly. While the entire nation went into lockdown,
our warehouse teams were on ground to get the
operations started. As an organization, we value our
work, but what is of paramount importance to us is
our team’s safety. To give our team a safe working
environment, we provided them with safety masks
and sanitizers. We ensured that all members,
including the drivers involved in loading and
unloading, undergo temperature readings and
oxygen level checks, at the time of entry into the
premises. We also propogated the message, asking
the team to follow social distancing and to
wash/sanitize their hands at regular intervals, whilst
working both inside and outside the premises.
Keeping the prevailing issues in mind, our
management team distributed groceries to all our
sta and labour manpower, so that they don’t face
any scarcity of supplies. And this way we could fulfil
all our safety commitments that we made to
our team.

integrating technology to cut down on lead times, we
have extended an extra hand to the E-commerce
market, with IT systems.
Bombay Shaving Company is a
pioneer in men’s grooming
segment in India. It is a technology
savvy company, trusted by men’s
grooming digital platforms. They
have a wide range of thoughtfully
curated product lines like shave
care, beard care, skin care and bath
care. They rely on digital channels for sales where
steadfast, agile and expert logistics and delivery
partners are extremely importantly because they
promise last mile delivery at the doorstep of
the customer.
We started our project with Bombay Shaving
Company on 29th May 2020. We went live on 9th
June, when we received our first order. Soon, we
started receiving up to 300 orders online each day.
We built up a capacity of serving 1000 orders per day
and with the relaxation in lockdown restrictions, we
are sure that our orders will clock in the numbers we
were targeting.

Bhopal Operations Expansion
Regardless of the dicult times, we continued to
deliver and also extended our support to Amazon and
Reliance. Amazon Bhopal was the first heavy duty
Amazon warehouse to open in India. Our Reliance
Bhopal warehouse was fully operational while
pertaining to proper guidelines and SOP’s and
Reliance achieved a remarkable landmark of
delivering to around 27 locations during lockdown in
comparison to the 14 locations in usual times.
All this was possible only with concerted and
constant improvements in our KPI. The requirements
of extra manpower, space and equipment, all were
taken care of, as per our client’s requirements. With
the maturity of site, the productivity and throughput
also saw a significant rise.
The high commitment of KDL Bhopal has yielded
incredible results with space additions.
Like a typical black swan event,
COVID-19 took the world by
complete surprise. During such
dicult times as a company we
had a daunting task to safeguard
our operational viability along with
protecting our workers. In such
times, KDL strived to keep up its
performance and successfully added close to 2x
projects in the Bhopal cluster of northern regions,
implementing multiple projects within a timeline of
less than a month. Our success stands on the pillars
of building good relations with client and exhibition of
strong service levels, flexibility, agility and our
incredible team including front-line warriors who
facilitated all the operations successfully.
For our client P&G’s racking project, we transformed
KDL’s facility to a vertical (G+4) one. After going
vertical the site which was originally a DC operation
site, it was converted to a Depot cum DC operation to
cater to local customer orders in addition to Indigo
orders and Upcountry orders.
Due to the lockdown restrictions, most of the P&G
sites were closed. However, P&G KDL Bhopal started
o with its operations in less than one week of the
lockdown and successfully supported the plant as
well as the company’s pan India operations including
all majorly aected regions.

South Updates
Me n Moms - Me n Moms is a well-acknowledged
brand in baby care products, oering a wide range of
products for new born. We started o with the
operations amidst the pandemic and we identified
serious challenges in this process. We stabilized the
entire operations in no-time. Currently we are
managing a 10000 sqft of warehouse space of
company in Bangalore through our entirely paperless
Warehouse operation solution that also includes HHT
based inwards and HHT based picking and invoicing.
Sarva Foams - Sarva Foams is the manufacturer of
rebonded foam, bonded foam and bond mattresses.
Through Sarva Foams we got the experience in
handling the operations of an entirely new segment
Mattresses. We started the operations amidst the
lockdown period and achieved a major mark of
delivering 15 to 17 blocks with an entirely new team.

South India is one of the most prominent growth engines of KDL. Our biggest strength is
our Implant Operations, which is also one of the biggest implant projects that we do
at KDL.
A couple of years ago we started with our implant DC operations for one of the flagship
FMCG companies, with just over 10,000 pallet positions. But today, we are operating in the same
premises with more than 23,000 pallet spots under HDR environment. This entire transition was done without
any operations downtime or any safety implications. 80 plus vehicles with 115,000 cases were dispatched in a
single day along-with 10 million Safety man hours. This achievement made this DC a Role Model for all our
other DC’s.
During the beginning of this year, we got an opportunity to work on another business unit for the same
customer. Our team eciently transitioned the raw materials and packing materials inventory handling along
with the end of line operations, within no time. From palletization to handover of FG inventory to implant DC, we
handled the entire end to end Inventory management of the FG being produced with the highest of quality and
safety standards.
During the lockdown, we had multiple responsibilities to fulfil like continuing the WH operations for distribution
of essential goods, restarting the manufacturing divisions, aligning the Logistics services, pooling the adequate
human resources and most importantly acquiring necessary approvals, permissions from government, local
authorities, police department etc for seamless business continuity for common public. But together, we
emerged successful from this tough time and even saw addition of some new projects to our portfolio.
East Updates
We are proud and extremely pleased to announce our
arrival in eastern part of the country. We are happy to
begin this new journey with our clients - P&G,
Modicare and Chep.
P&G - KDL has national patronization and leveraging
the same for our new terrain, we developed a
customer centric customized solution alongwith
local professional expertise, for our client. We started
the operations in October’20 and our execution
involves FTL transportation to the seven states of
Northeast, alongwith critical army CSD depots.
Modicare - Modicare is a leading direct marketing
company in spheres of Personal Care, Agritech
Products, Beverages etc. A strong last mile IT
enabled solution and over 900 plus pincode coverage
helped us successfully bag the Warehousing and
Transportation project. We handle the entire
transportation move across the seven north-eastern
states, including the inter-state warehouse-to-
warehouse and warehouse-to-home transportation.
Chep - “CHEP is a pioneer in the segment of Pallets
and Crates and caters to a wide range of industries
from consumer goods to automotive and industrial
requirements. KDL bagged the business of
Warehouse management for the company. The entire
operations including inspection, repairing and
conditioning all are managed in 25,000 sq. ft
warehouse in Kolkata. This facility, with a processing
capacity of 32,000 orders per month and a
throughput of more than 70,000 transactions, serves
as a hub for the entire Eastern and North Eastern
part of India.
19
A warehouse is a hub of various activities comprising of goods,
forklifts, crates, cartons and most importantly human beings, meeting
delivery deadlines and topping customer ratings. With work going on
in 2 shifts amongst hundreds of workers, the safety of humans, goods
and infrastructure plays a pivotal role in Warehouse Management.
At KDL, we make safety our topmost priority. Safety of human
beings, application of right tools and processes is at the heart of
the organization.
We are committed to providing safe and healthy working conditions
for the prevention of work-related injury and ill health of employees
and contract workers by adopting safe and proactive approach during
the progress of work at our warehouses and logistics operations.
We are committed to consultation and participation of employees
and workers from time to time and provide trainings, demonstration
and toolbox talks to the workers on personal and workplace safety
and continual improvement in their Management
and performance.
Most importantly, we ensure these
safety precautions are communicated
well to all the people handling
materials, being in the premises, or
even merely visiting. More so ever,
we have had to consider health
safety due to the ongoing Covid-19
pandemic, to ensure minimal
danger to life.
In the past year, we organized
several training and awareness
sessions on Safety.

Mr. Avinash MahaleAssistant Manager Safety
Solar Electricity - One Step towards a Green Footprint
The sun is an undiminishable source of energy - a vast and clean source of energy. Research has proved that
energy harnessed from the sun does not emit any greenhouse emissions. This means that we do not increase
our carbon footprint or leave behind an ugly mess for the next generations.
At KDL, we are highly responsible to the needs of the environment, and the latest installation of Solar Power
panels at our Bhiwandi warehouse is our first step towards embracing renewable energy. We have installed 545
polycrstalline solar panels on the rooftop, having 237460 KWh expected power generation over 1 year. Rooftop
solar panels are more ecient than grid power and durable, reducing instances of energy interruption.
With this installation, we will generate enough power to sustain all the electricity requirements of the
warehouse. This power can be utilized for lighting, cooling systems, parking lights, etc.
This safe and environmentally friendly power source is our way to contribute to a sustainable future.
We have entered the Digital Age, proven exhaustively
with the global pandemic. The only industry that
flourished during the last year is Technology, and it is
imperative for every other industry to adapt to newer
technologies. In line with the inevitable growth in the
ECom industry we have made significant
advancements in our WMS to adopt prevalent
Ecommerce ecosystem and best practices. It covers
every step of retail and warehouse management
right from recording online sales on marketplaces,
up until the last mile post-delivery experience of
the customer.
The operations subsumed under this practice are:
1. Order management - When a consumer places an
online order (either on their ow independent website
or any of the marketplaces like Amazon, Flipkart,
Myntra, Ajio, etc.), the order is managed and tracked
along with several other orders on a unified platform.
2. Receiving - The inward recording of the stock with
smart-putaway aides in ecient picking. The
inventory system allows real time visibility of
the marketplaces. Here, two methods have
been developed:
a. The entire WMS inventory is visible on all
marketplaces (minus some reserve stock)
b. A pre-decided percentage of stocks is assigned for
each of the portals (eg: 35% assigned to Amazon,
25% assigned to Flipkart, 25% assigned to Own
Webstore, 15% assigned to AJio)
3. Picking - Our picking strategy combined with per
piece scanning using HHTs ensures ecient and
accurate picking.
4. Packing - (1) Ecient packing with proper
management of packaging materials aligned with
the product (UOM) units of measurement. These
packing materials include boxes, bubble mailers or
poly bags, packing tape, bubble wrap, air fill, and
other dunnage.
(2) Integration of Shipping Label and Invoice for
orders from the relevant marketplaces.
5. Shipping - Having a variety of trustworthy shipping
partners helps to ensure customer satisfaction.
Depending on the size, weight and specific
requirements of the order, most eective shipping
method is determined. One can customize the
strategy to pick from the available last mile
delivery vendors.
6. Return order processing – In the world of ECom,
this is a largely unavoidable component of doing
business and a solid strategy of a good WMS.
Why should you leave it to the experts?
In the last couple of years, there have been a number
of new emergent ECom platforms. Integrating with
each one of these marketplaces requires significant
time and eort. These investments might not be the
most astute utilization of an organization’s resources.
We can help ecom companies save a lot of resources
and eort. They will benefit from the support,
expertise and technological integrations (with all the
major marketplaces and all major last mile delivery
vendors) that we have perfected with our years of
experience. A major advantage is our logistic
specialization as our facilities are placed in various
locations to save shipping costs and accelerate
deliveries. We scale labour, space and transportation
according to specific business needs.
We have always opted for a technology driven and
forward-looking approach. Competing to supply and
serve the e-commerce market has never been
fiercer. The most crucial element in the success of
ECom fulfilment is the Warehouse Management
Process. Optimizing the warehouse management
activities along with seamless integrations with
marketplaces and last mile delivery vendors is where
we’ve built capacity to ensure best services delivered
on-time to customers.

Unleashing The Hidden Potential
The Human Resource function is a backbone of any
service Industry. Skilled manpower leads to
eciency at the workplace, and thus leads to
organisation growth. AT KDL, we believe in nurturing
talent by providing right atmosphere to learn, train
and perform at cross functional levels.
Every year we add close to 10 + new clients & a
million square feet across dierent locations. Most of
the employees are hired from local villages and
dealing with rural mindset has its own challenges
and nuances. A minimum hiring pre-requisite is the
right attitude towards work – skills can be moulded
or upgraded, but the right attitude must come from
within. The right person with the right attitude
towards learning, teamwork and sincerity can do
wonders towards achieving goals for the
organisation, and motivating team members as well.
In each of our warehouses, we ensure that On the Job
Training (OJT) modules are deployed and a minimum
number of 2 Mandays of training per employee is
imparted on training and learning. While training
modules are based on SOP’s, soft skills, warehousing
practices, safety practices etc, it helps to gauge the
inner potential of each employee. While in training, or
on the job, competency mapping helps us to mould
them towards a job or skill they are best suited for.
Teamwork, communication, leadership and a keen
sense of learning and understanding of logistics
processes is key to creating leaders and highly
motivated employees within an organisation.
We ensure employees understand and imbibe the
company’s culture of honesty, integrity and fairness
in all circumstances. This helps to create responsible
employees who care for the company’s growth and
are an integral part of its success story. The idea
behind this is to create a family where the company’s
success is their own individual success.
To motivate our employees, we have a Reward &
Recognition mechanism in place for our warehousing
sta. An appreciation goes a long way in keeping up
the morale of an individual in a mundane or routine
job. We celebrated Family Day where our employees
and their families participate in various cultural
activities. It provides them a platform to showcase
their latent talent. We take great pride in recognising
our employees in presence of their families. This year
we had three such celebrations. These events help
maintain and lower the attrition rate, which is at a
low 3-4% in the warehouses.
In 2021, we aim to create more structured programs
for unleashing the hidden potential of our employees.
The Learning & Development Strategy for 2021 is
being designed towards fulfilling our dream of
starting Skill Development Centres in our
Warehouses. The focus will be on logistics
requirements of customers from various industry
sectors, which are unique for every customer ranging
from size of pallets, storage patterns, order &
dispatch timings etc.
We are geared up for the next milestone in our
journey, and unleashing the immense potential
amongst our employees will only propel us faster
into a brighter future.

the nine colors of Navratri that symbolize the unique strengths of
the Devi. We organised a colour code dress contest for each of the
9 days. For the 10th day, a Dussehra Pooja Contest was held. Our
employees participated with a lot of enthusiasm and added
colours to the celebration.
On Ganesh Chaturthi, we decided to go the
“Green Route” and brought home our eco-friendly
Bappa adorned with flowers and durva. Every
year, we celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi with huge
pomp and fair. This year, due to the pandemic, we
kept the celebrations minimalistic but did not halt
our tradition. Together we prayed to Bappa, our
‘sukhakarta and dukha harta’, to bring us out of
the eminent danger.
