The Royal Agricultural Society of Western Australia (RASWA) held the first Perth Royal Show in 1834 and has been expanding its presence and patronage ever since, to become regarded as WA’s largest annual community event.
Each year the IGA Perth Royal Show has up to 400,000 visitors entering the Claremont Showground over the eight days. For our vendors and exhibitors, this creates a great opportunity to have your brand and/or product in front of local, rural and interstate visitors of all ages and demographics.
For 2017, plans are well underway for eight days of great value, including better than ever entertainment, food and beverage experiences and agricultural education.
Join us at the 2017 IGA Perth Royal Show and help us celebrate the State biggest and best event.

• 2016 was the start of the Taste WA marquee, and 97% of survey respondents rated either definitely or maybe to seeing it back in 2017.
• In the new Walk Through WA pavilion, around 200 letters were written to “Thank a Farmer” (for their next meal), including one from Governor Kerry Sanderson.
• In the IGA kitchen, more than 66,000 shortbread cookies were given away, and over 4,000 punnets of strawberries, blueberries and tomatoes were sold.
• A kid and a lamb were born in the PETstock Animal Nursery during show.
• More than 530 businesses exhibited at the Show, both local and national.

The IGA Perth royal Show marketing plan included paid print, tv, radio and social media advertising, as well as unpaid editorials.
A new website was launched in 2016 and we received great levels of engagement; 662,886 unique visits to perthroyalshow.com.au between August 16 – October 16. There was an increased 34% average time spent navigating the sire, from 4:04 minutes in 2015 to 5:27 minutes in 2016. This suggests much more engaging content and information was provided on the website than previous years.
• 93,438 Facebook likes• 3,841 Twitter followers• 2,436 Instagram followers• 70, 789 YouTube views
In 2016, live streaming was trialed with great success for Wood Chopping and FEI Horses World Cup.
The IGA Perth Royal show aligned with Ticketmaster in 2016 and initiated a large push for Early Bird and Pre Sale Tickets. Gate entries saw a 24% increase on those in 2015, as more people were opting to purchase tickets from an IGA store.
A comprehensive marketing report was created following the 2016 IGA Perth Royal Show to identify the success and opportunities of that year. This also included research from three Focus Group’s of non-show goers, as well as traditional exit surveys, media reports and sales. These have been taken into account when planning the 2017 IGA Perth Royal Show.

FOLDING MAPS
Pocket size folding maps will again be provided in 2017, however for the first time, they will be free of charge, which will mean a much larger readership than ever before – every patron to the Showground will receive one.
There will be more than 100,000 folding maps printed and distributed during the Show, with multiple versions to allow for more advertisements as we have been inundated with interest.
This creates a great opportunity to get your brand in front of a large audience during the eight days of the IGA Perth Royal Show and post-Show.
There are 16 spaces available on the reverse side of the each map and each advertisement will be printed in full colour. With a total of 32 spaces available these will be allocated on a first come, first serve basis, so be quick!
