SUMMER VACATION HOLIDAY HOMEWORK

The school will remain closed from May 13, 2019 to June 30,
2019 for the Summer Break. The school will re-open on July
01, 2019(Monday). Kindly submit the Holiday Homework
between June 27-June 29. Timings 9:00 a.m.-11:00a.m.
“Success is the sum of small efforts repeated day in and day out”. Dear Children,
Summer Vacations are synonymous with fun, frolic, getting up late in the
morning, playing for longer hours with friends, going for picnics, exploring new
places and watching fun filled shows on television. But dear children, there is a
lot more you can do to make your vacations more interesting, meaning full and
full of fun; along with doing all your heart desires. Here is a “Summer vacation
Activity Treasure Box” just for you. It will surely mould you for a better and
successful forthcoming year. So get ready for your treasure hunt.

Few guidelines for your parents to make your long summer break fruitful.
1. “Knowledge is Power”. Therefore encourage your child to cultivate the
reading habit because it not only enhances the knowledge acquired but also
develops the vocabulary, language skills and improves spellings. And also
read to your child because it builds reading skills and increases his/her
attention span.
2. “A healthy mind lives in a healthy body”. Encourage your child to go out
and play because sports instill discipline, generate sporting spirits, channelize
energies constructively.
3. Communication skills play a pivotal role in grooming the overall
personality
of the children. Converse with your child preferably in English to help him /
her get comfortable with the language. Encourage your child to read children’s
magazines like Magic Pot, Chandamama, Champak etc.
4. Spend quality time with your child engaging him / her in activities based on
enhancing his / her powers of observation and imagination.
5. Encourage your child to play board games e.g. Chess, Ludo, Carrom etc.
6. Sensitize your child about the rich culture and heritage by watching different
informative channels
GENERAL GUIDELINES :.
EXPLORE YOUR CITY: Take your child to Railway Station, Zoo,
Water Park, Park, etc & encourage him/her to speak few
sentences about the place he/she visits.
GET CREATIVE: Help your child make an attractive, handmade folder with old newspapers. Decorate it and compile all the holiday homework in it.
Let’s try to be independent during this summer break and learn to
Button up your shirt. Laying the table. Put on your shoes and socks. Pack up your bag Folding mats and clothes. Eat lunch on your own. Arranging their toy shelf. Sorting and pairing household items. Keep your surroundings neat and tidy. Practice the concepts Done in the class on regular basis.
Good manners and good habits are lifelong assets and they should be practiced until they become habit. Revise the four magical words:
PLEASE, SORRY, THANK YOU and EXCUSE ME which we have learned
as the part of basics of good manners .Make these four magical words a habit and see the difference.
Imbibe following Social Skills in your child: Greeting with a smile when someone comes to the house.
Conversing freely with visitors, relatives coming over to the house.
Answering the phone calls with a polite “Hello!”, Also asking “May I know
who is calling?"
Sitting at the dining table with the family to eat the meals.
Speaking politely to the peer group.
Personal Hygiene :
Encourage your child to take care of ‘Personal Hygiene’ by inculcating the following habits:
Brushing teeth twice daily
Combing hair regularly
Bathing everyday
Washing hands before and after meals
Trimming the nails and keeping them clean
Let’s converse in small English sentences like:
How are you? I am good, Thank you.
I am thirsty. Please give me water.
Please open/close my tiffin/bag.
I am hungry. Please give me food.
I have finished my work/food.
Please switch off the light/fan.
ENGLISH RECITATION IN JULY
Take help from your parents to select and
prepare a poem for your English Recitation
Competition.
The poem should be minimum 8 to 10 lines
with proper Self Introduction.
Prepare the rhyme with actions or with
suitable hand props (which can be made to
enhance your performance.)
Remember! You will be judged on the type of
poem that you have selected (i.e. appropriate for your level and
not one of those you do in class everyday i.e from the rhyme
book) and how beautifully you present it (i.e voice modulation,
action, prop and intonation).
FRUIT BASKET ACTIVITY
Draw and colour some fruits on
chart paper. Cut the fruits
neatly. Draw a basket as shown
on A3 pastel sheet. Then paste
the fruits in the basket.
Decorate the basket in your
own creative way.
SPEND YOUR SUMMER BREAK FRUITFULLY WITH THE
FOLLOWING ACTIVITES PLANNED FOR JUNE MONTH

THEM AT THE MENTIONED PLACES IN THE PICTURE:

IMPORTANT:
All the work given should be done by the
child under parental guidance. It will help in
the holistic development of the child.
