When was America Discovered?

Colonization…What is it?

Colonialism:

The control or governing influence of a nation over another country, territory, or people.

Imperialism:

The policy of extending the rule or authority of an empire or nation over foreign countries, or of

acquiring and holding colonies and dependencies.

Colony: A group of people who leave their native country to form in a new land a settlement subject to, or connected with, the parent nation.

What are some reasons why countries would want to be

colonizers?
