What is Early/Middle College?

Early college high schools are small schools designed so that students can earn both a high school diploma and an Associate’s degree or up to two years of credit toward a Bachelor’s degree in 5 years.

The program is designed for students who may be the first in their families to go to college, students who need extra support to continue their education, may lack the financial resources, or be part of an underrepresented group.

How does it work? A grade report is run every Monday morning and students are classified as:

ABC Students

DF Students

Teachers claim students based on grade priorities Students are emailed their assignment on Tuesday & Thursday morning

ABC students can be released after attendance To see a teacher for assistance, make up tests/quizzes

To cafeteria

Quiet time to work/read in the media center

How does it work? (continued) DF student must go to teacher who has claimed him or her based on earning D or F

Priority used for students with multiple Ds and/or Fs

Students who do not go where claimed treated as skipping and may loose credit

Tuesdays and Thursdays 30 min period, between 2nd & 3rd hour
