A Brief Profile

We work in villages…

• Promoting value based quality education using latest technology in a user friendly environment, & spiritual uplift to underprivileged, deprived rural and urban masses in far-flung villages and slums of India

• The concept of Smart gurukool was inspired by the belief that well-educated people with empathy towards the needy and vulnerable must work at the grassroots to empower rural India through quality education using the latest user friendly technology tools.

Who we are

• Smart gurukool was initiated in 2014 by a group of like minded young professionals having education and experience in India and abroad, inspired to contribute substantially towards social innovation with a mission to empower villagers.

The Founder• A master’s in computer security from University of

Surrey, London (UK) 2011 later, Abhishek Dagar from Issapur village, Delhi, started working as a free-lance software developer in Delhi. Soon, he realised that his time and efforts were helping billionaires become multi-billionaires, and “I didn’t want to be on that side”.

A short assignment of Ministry of Rural Development, GOI on Skill Dev came as “golden opportunity” for Abhishek, who was assigned to work in remote village in Sikkim in Northeast India.

It showed Abhishek the road ahead to dedicate his life in empowering rural india through quality education through user friendly technology tools.
