Session 1 Introduction to unit

Unit Overview

This unit will enable you to assess a clients health and lifestyle in preparation for creating them a personalized exercise program that will include SMART goals, and will include motivational procedures to help the client achieve their goals.

Unit Overview

After completing this unit you will be able to:

• Set up a meeting with a new client• Assess the clients health & fitness levels via a series of

tests.• Analyse the results and give feedback to the client • Set SMART targets to help achieve the clients goals• Set realistic goals to motivate the client• Give helpful advice on stress and other daily pressures.

Assessment

• You will be practically assessed on a variety of health and fitness tests.

• Health – Height, weight, body fat, hip to waist ratios, BMI, blood pressure.

• Based on these results you will then do a variety of fitness component tests – CV VO2 Max tests, muscular strength and endurance tests, flexibility tests.

• From the results you will then prepare a written essay of results and feed them back to the client.

File Building

Though out this unit you will be given worksheets that can be used once you have left college for client assessment.
