Classical and later sonatas are works for either solo piano or a solo instrument accompanied by piano.

LeiderLeider is simply the German word for songs.

A Leid is a song sung in German accompanied by piano. They can be either strophic or through composed in form.

A collection of Leider is known as a Song Cycle.
