FESTIVALS

PUMPKIN FESTIVALThe Pumpkin Festival was started in 1985 to help farmers sell their pumpkins. It is located in Milton W.V. and has crafts and activities for the whole family. Pictured right is a child sitting on the festivals biggest pumpkin.

APPLE FESTIVAL

The Apple Festival is held the first Saturday in October in Paintsville K.Y. In addition to crafts, activities and parades, country music plays a big role in the festival. Pictured left is country singer Rebecca Lynn Howard performing.

APPLE BUTTER FESTIVALThe Apple Butter Festival is held in Berkley Springs, W.V. Above you can see apple butter being made.

How To Make Crock-Pot Apple Butter

Step 1

Gather up

Ingredients.

Ingredients

Apple

Cinnamon Cloves

SugarCrock-Pot

Step 2

Thinly slice 3 quarts of apples

Put them in crock-pot and cook for 4 hours

Step 3

Use new Measuring skills to measure out 2 teaspoons of cinnamon.

Step 4

Next, measure 3 cups of sugar

Step 5

Measure ½ teaspoon of ground cloves

Step 6

Slice apples

Mix all together in crock-pot

Let cook for 3 more hours

Dig In!!!

After completing the measurements learned and cooking, the apple butter is ready to eat!
