Congenital Heart Defects (CHDs) are the most common birth defect, affecting nearly 1 in 100 babies in the U.S., and are the leading cause of birth defect-related deaths. The Children’s HeartFoundation is the nation’s leading organization solely dedicated to funding CHD research, and since 1996 has funded more than $11.1 million to advance the most promising research for the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of CHDs.
