Christmas traditions in Great Britain.

Streets are decorated with lights...

 

...and Christmas trees everywhere.

   

Children sing Christmas carols.

 

                        At home...   Children hang up their Christmas stockings by the chimney.

 

  Families decorate their Christmas tree.

 

   On Christmas Eve, Father Christmas puts the presents under the tree.

 

   On Christmas morning many families open their presents together round the Christmas tree.

 

   For Christmas dinner they prepare roast turkey,...

 

   mince pies...  (RECEIPE)

 

 and Christmas pudding. (RECEIP)

Other special days along                   Christmas holidays.

Boxing Day.   

   It's celebrated the day after Christmas. Many sports events take place on this day.

New year's Eve.  There are parties, fireworks, singing and dancing to welcome the New Year.

New year's Day.    There is a street parade in London.

   These are some interesting aspects about Christmas in Great Britain. What about our Christmas? How many differences can you find between them? How many similarities?
