The venture was created to INSPIRE , DISCOVER and REWARD those who believe that business can be a force for GOOD.

A global search to find & support the most promising start-ups with the potential to succeed financially and make a positive impact on the lives of

others.

A chance to pitch for a share of The Venture's $1Million fund and have access to the tools and mentorship to accelerate their growth.

The Venture Year 1

More than 1,000 social entrepreneurs applied, but only 16 of the best were selected to compete for $1Million in funding.

Chipsafer ($150,000) from Uruguay who uses innovative tracking devices to transform the way farmers look after their livestock.

Algramo from Chile - $300,000 to further develop the pioneering food distribution enterprise.

The Venture Year 1

SenSprout ($150,000) from Japan who aims to make farming more efficient using a wireless field-monitoring system

The Venture Year 1

Lumkani ($75,000) from South Africa , uses technology to decrease the risk of devastating fires in informal settlements.

The Venture Year 1

Diseclar ($75,000) from Colombia who turn waste materials into stylish furniture.

The Venture - Year 2

The Local winner would represent Nigeria in the global finals on an all expense paid trip.

Who can Participate in The Venture?

1. Social Entrepreneurs - for-profit start-up or business.

Who can Participate in The Venture? Start-up stage

Working prototype of its concept, Demonstrable user traction, generating a maximum of

N100,000,000 in annual revenues incorporated for no more than 3 years

Who can Participate in The Venture?

beyond the working prototype stage, significant user traction and sales, maximum of N200,000,000 in annual revenues incorporated for more than 3 years

Growth stage

Who can Participate in The Venture?

1. Strong vision, a compelling idea and a solid business plan/ business model.

Who can Participate in The Venture?

25 years and olderOpen to applicants ALL OVER Nigeria

Who can NOT Participate in The Venture?

The Competition is not open for applications from businesses which:

1. is solely or primarily involve the marketing or selling of products or services to those under the age of 18 ;

2.or relates solely or primarily to the provision of or promotion of alcohol, addiction services or related products (e.g.: smoking).

Who can NOT Participate in The Venture?

NGOs/ Not-for-profits dependent on grants.

Companies and their CSR initiatives.
