What is Children’s Choir? Children’s Choir is a vocal ensemble just for kids
where they can develop their musical gifts in a
Christian context. The program’s goal is to focus
on training children (K-5th) in vocal skill and the
foundations of music.
When & where does it meet? Choir meets in the VBC Foyer every Tuesday at
3:45-4:45 pm. A list of calendar events can be
found in this brochure. All dates/times can be
subject to change, but all changes will be
communicated in a timely manner. Any major
changes or additions will often request parent
considerations prior to planning.
What is the cost & why? Due to the resources needed to operate a
program like this, there is a fee of $30. This cost
helps toward the purchase of sheet music, CDs,
snacks, T-shirts, instruments, prizes and any other
tools used in the program. For parents with more
than one child involved, there’s a reduction of $10
per additional child.
If there are financial concerns that would prevent
your child from being involved, please visit with an
instructor– we would love to help in any way we
can. We wouldn’t want any child to miss out on the
opportunity of involvement for financial reasons.

Commitment to the Program The choir season has three opening weeks that
children can come see what choir is like and if it’s an activity that they’d like to join. After this, each
child is asked to commit to the program for the rehearsal season, which leads toward the
concert. If your child is unable to attend a
practice, we ask that you please let Gunnar know via email. This helps quite a bit with planning.
Every child who is a part of the program will receive their books and CD early on in the season
that they will be encouraged to practice with at
home. And we’ll remind them to remember their books each week for rehearsal, too!
“Beautiful music is one of the
most magnificent and
delightful presents God has given us.”
- Martin Luther

Attendance in Choir In order to provide the best music training for everyone, it’s very important that we make the
best use of the time that we have together. Choir
is a team effort, so it’s essential that all the kids make it to rehearsal each week.
We ask that each child arrive at 3:45 pm for check-in and snack time. Rehearsal will begin
right at 4:00 pm. Besides, everyone who arrives
on time to rehearsal earns talents for the choir store!
