WHO ARE ADVANCED?

We are global leaders in the production of chemicals for the HVAC&R industry, and we export to customers around the world.

We became part of the Aspen Pump Group in 2018. The group focus on innovation and new product development and this is a key part of their global success.

3

WHAT HAPPENS IF I DON’T CLEAN?

• Power consumption increases and cooling duty decreases

• End user running costs and C02 emissions increase

• Microbial growth and blocked drains can cultivate (within weeks)

• Indoor air quality becomes polluted• Potential frozen evaporators and

refrigerant leaks

4

WHAT IS THE COST IF YOU DON’T CLEAN?

Up to 32% energy saving

APPLYING THE PRODUCT

RTU (Ready-to-use)• Ready-to-use product• Correct dilutions• Trigger head applicator

AEROSOLS (Easy range)• High pressure spray• Pleasant odours

(not all products)• Ready-to-use product

CONCENTRATES• Chemicals can be diluted

based on strength needed• Put in high pressure

sprayers – HydroSprayersor HydroSprayer-Elite

GELS• Safe to transport and use• Similar strength to

concentrate cleaners and can make up to 8L

• Easy storage in the van and on site

Understanding COSHH Safety Data

THE BASICS

Criteria for the international agreed set of rules to determine if it is ‘hazardous’

• Physical hazards

• (e.g. explosivity corrosivity etc)

• Health hazards

• (e.g. potential to cause cancer in humans, to irritate the skin or eyes, etc)

• Environmental hazards (e.g. harmful to the aquatic environment, etc)

22

THE BASICS

When classifying a chemical, the supplier must consider:

• What sort of harm a chemical might cause –the hazards

• How certain it is that the chemical could actually have this effect

• How serious the effect might be

• How potent the chemical is.

23

HAZARDOUS LABELLING

Since 2009, new international symbols have been gradually replacing the European symbols. Some of them are similar to the European symbols, but there is no single word describing the hazard. You will need to read the hazard statement on the packaging and the safety data sheet from the supplier.

24

CHEMICAL LABELLING IS ALL AROUND YOU

25

SAFETY DATA SHEETS - WHY?

SDS are required by the REACH Regulation (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and restriction of Chemicals)

They are a key document in the safe supply and handling of chemicals

Ensure those who use in the workplace can do so without harm

Legally only needed if is classed as hazardous

26

SAFETY DATA SHEETS - WHO?

Manufacture of the substance or a mixture that is classified hazardous

Transport – Hazardous goods notes for transport

Wholesaler – For storing & shipping risk assessments

End User/Employers – For use of the product and to create risk assessments when using the product
