Chapters Report
• NPSS now has 19 chapters or joint chapters. Of these, 17 appear to be active, 8 in North America, 7 in Europe, 2 in Asia.
• Two chapter do not appear to be active, Cleveland and also Chicago, due to the death of its long-time chair, Jack Sherman.
• Four chapters were established in 2009: Seoul, Korea; Richland, WA; Toronto, Canada; and Czechoslovakia.
• Three chapters received financial support in 2009: Saratov/Penza ($500), East Ukraine ($500), and Seoul, Korea ($1,250): total $2,250.
• Three chapters have received financial support in 2010: Saratov/Penza ($500), Seoul, Korea ($500), Toronto ($1500). A request has also been received from East Ukraine ($500) and an additional request is expected from the Czechoslovakia chapter.
• Both the Saratov, Russia and the East Ukraine chapters have continued to pursue MOUs for their chapter cosponsored events.

2009 Chapter Meeting Summary
• The existing motion authorizes $20K per year for travel expenses of DLs making presentations at NPSS Chapter or IEEE Section or student chapter meetings.
• There are currently 20 DLs offering 37 lectures. All 2009 lecturers will probably be continued into 2010 (unless DL withdraws or TC chair objects).
• All DLs were polled for 2009 lectures that overlapped the content of posted lectures and for which speaker was introduced as an NPSS DL.
• For 2009, there were 27 lectures presented, versus 16 in 2008.• Five 2009 lectures were reimbursed (4 separate trips), with 4 to NPSS
chapters and 1 to a student chapter; total cost $3585.77.• Some questions for 2010:
– How long should DLs serve?– What can be done to improve the program and increase its visibility?
• I renew my request for the TC chairs to nominate additional DLs, particularly from locations outside North America.
