DEFINITIONS OF MENTORING

Mentoring is extending to someone God’s unconditional Love

Mentoring is a relational experience through which one person empowers another by sharing God-given resources (Tim Elmore, Mentoring, p16)

CORE VALUESThe Seminary believes:

•In assisting students to be come adaptable and functioning individuals in a Global Community. 

GOALS•To enhance mentees growth towards Christ-like maturity•To assist mentees in becoming socially integrated within their sphere of influence•To assist mentees in coping with academic work•To guide mentees towards their vocational/ professional pursuits

PROGRAMS / ACTIVITIES

•Daily Journal activities•Active involvement in Community Service (Servant-hood)•Active involvement in school and other social events•Use of time management principles (time Dairy)

PARTICIPATION IS VOLUNTARY

For both mentor and mentee

• Faculty/Staff Members• Senior Students• JTS Alumni

WHO CAN BE A MENTEE?

• First year full-time student• First year part-time student

IS THERE ANY EVALUATION?

Yes:• End of the first Semester• During the penultimate week of

the second semester

HOW CAN I BECOME INVOLVED IN CHANGE?

• Complete an application form• Submit your application form to

the Office of Student Affairs
