Modern Eclectic

This very popular business hotel was ready for a renovation, and so CCI was

approached to help with this.

Whilst keeping its look and feel intact, it was important to give a fresh look to

the relevant areas.

Fresh tones of blues, oranges and terracottas have been used to enhance the

existing areas, whilst adding something new and exciting to the old areas.

Funky Metropolitan

The budget assigned for the refurbishment of this hotel was approximately

AED 70 million. The colour scheme for the guestrooms was inspired by the

proximity of the hotel to the ocean.

Energizing colours like aqua, turquoise, lime and white were employed that not

only brighten up the space but also add a kind of zest. A white linear high gloss

panel with a mirror and a back lit coral shape mashrabiya spans the wall behind

the bed and creates a dramatic focal point.

All the fixed joinery items were maintained to be linear which creates a dynamic

contrast with the organic and circular shapes of the furnishings such as the

mirror, chairs and table.

Furthermore, the corridors were designed to be a continuation of the

guestrooms. A backlit panel of coral shaped mashrabiya, ocean hues and

organic furnishings were used to achieve this.

Monolithic Arabic

Part of ‘The Wave’ development in Muscat, the Kempinski Hotel consisted of

300 guest keys and 68 serviced apartments along with a destination gym and

spa, two swimming pools, 13 food and beverage outlets along an urban

streetscape, extensive landscaped gardens and an iconic ballroom on the

corner of the site catering to a 1,000 guests.

It is part of a world-class mixed-use community spread along 6kms of natural

beach. The design incorporated modern, monolithic Arabic elements, most of

which were sourced from the local Omani market.

The color palette employed was beiges and muted browns to keep in line with

the character of the space.
