Who We Are
We are a group of volunteers founded in 1998. We provide search & rescue services to Cayuga County and surrounding areas. Our Team Consists of members ranging from Grid searchers to K-9 Handlers. We come from all aspects of life and give up our time freely and willingly when needed.
Our Mission To provide professionally
trained volunteers (including K-9’s), and the necessary equipment and resources, to assist other official agencies in search operations.
To promote cooperation and coordination with other responding agencies.
To encourage public safety through educational programs in wilderness survival, Lost Prevention, as well as to conduct a continuing effective public relations program.
What We Do
Aside from looking for lost persons, Cayuga County Highland Search & Rescue is also available for local K-9 and (or) Grid Team demonstrations as well as Lost Prevention. We teach Lost Prevention to community/civic organizations, our local schools and just about any other group that would like our services… Free of Charge. We are available for presentations to local emergency service groups (law enforcement, fire, EMS) to demonstrate our capabilities and for mutual aid training scenarios.

People interested in support functions are also needed.
When and Where Do You Meet ?
CCHSAR meets the third Sunday of each month at 12:00 pm prior
to our Team Training at the Sennett FD. If you are interested in attending, please contact our
