Objetivo(s) de Aprendizaje de la Unidad.
To reflect and analyze the different changes in comparative and superlative adjectives within the context and
vocabulary of the family
Título de la unidad de Aprendizaje. “Talking about the Family”
Activity 1: Students will be able to acquire and understand different concepts related to family.
Warm upSs will watch a video as the introduction of the unit
Body: Ss will link the concepts heard in the video with characters of a famous family.
Ss will talk about their families (pairs). Who do they live with, how old they are, etc.
Closure: Ss, with the help of the teacher, will summarize the
entire lesson making a family tree on the board, mentioning the different nouns.
Note: Ss will be ask to bring a family photo for the following session
Resources: Youtube, Projector, Computer.
Activity 2: Students will be able to learn about comparative and superlative adjectives.
Warm upSs will do a review of the previous class
Body: Ss, after a brief explanation of the different changes of the comparative and superlative adjectives, will choose the correct form of them.
• Ss will go to the website and they will catch superlative adjectives
Closure: Ss will summarize the class. Some of them will be asked to present and talk about their own families, using the photo which they were asked to bring.

Pictures.
Activity 3: Students will be able to practice transforming some adjectives into the correct comparative and superlative’s form in order to
describe some family members.
• Warm up:• Ss will recall information about the previous
class in order to ask and answer some questions about their families
Body:
•Ss will watch a video in order to recall some vocabulary of the unit
•Ss will work on a website and fill-in some exercises about comparative and superlative adjectives
• Closure:
• Ss will compare themselves with some classmates using positive adjectives
Ex: She’s taller than me
He’s the smartest of the class

Activity 4: Students will be able to listen to a song in order to recognize the grammar taught in classes.
Warm up:
• Ss will make a brainstorm recalling everything they have learned.
Body:
•Ss will listen to the song “Fighter” of Cristina Aguilera.
•Ss will listen to the song one more time in order to fill in the gaps with the missing words.
•Ss will create sentences with the missing words applying the comparative and superlative adjectives.
• Closure:
• Ss will sing along the song.

Activity 5: Students will be able to skim and scan a text in order to get specific information and answer some questions
• Warm up:
• Ss will see a picture of a famous cartoon’s family and will compare the different characters relating and applying what they have learned

Activity 6: Students will be able to practice using comparative and superlative adjectives and vocabulary related to the family in order to compare different people and summarize the whole unit
Warm up:Ss will listen to the teacher and the instructions of the assessment

•Ss will create their own family tree adding images of their families
•Ss will present their family tree in front of the class applying all the vocabulary and grammar learned in classes.
•Closure:
•Ss will listen to the teacher and the final comments (feedback) about the assessment
