Description:The Encore “Endurance” Series isa recessed or surface mountedLED Edgelit Exit sign with abrushed aluminum extrudedaluminum trim plate. A crystalclear acrylic panel hangs from thetrim plate providing a slim, nearlyinvisible aesthetic sign. The LEDilluminator uses ultra highbrightness Piranha type LEDsproviding bright, consistentillumination. The Endurance Seriesis available AC only or BatteryBackup. The battery versionutilizes high temperature maintenance free NiCad batteries.The recessed housing hasadjustable mounting bars to allowproper ceiling fit in any application.Electronics:Both Battery and AC only unitsaccept input of 120/277 VAC, 60Hz. Power consumption is 1.9watts. Battery backup models useNiCad batteries, maintenance free.Charging is accomplished with aconstant current charger capableof recharging as per UL924standards. No mechanical relaysare used, transfer is accom-plished using solid state circuitry.

Housing:Recessed housing is constructedof 18 gauge galvanized steel. Allelectronics, including the battery,when applicable, are mounted andprewired in the housing allowingfor complete wiring prior to theinstallation of the panel/trimassembly. The electronics aremounted on a removablesub-chassis to facilitate mountingand maintenance. The recessedhousing is provided with verticallyadjustable mounting bars allowingfor a proper flush ceiling fit. 1/2”conduit knockouts are included onboth sides as well as on top of thehousing. Surface mounted unitsutilize a one piece, tapered,brushed aluminum extrusion.Surface housings can be mountedback wall, end wall, ceiling, orpendant. Consult factory.LED Illuminator:The LED illuminator consists of 10Ultra bright Piranha LEDs. ThePiranha LED has a nearly 180degree emitting angle allowing foreven illumination. The LEDs arewired in sets of two, insuring in theunlikely event of a single LEDfailure, the sign will continue to beilluminated.

Trim/Panel Assembly:The Trim/Panel assembly con-sists of die formed clear acrylicattached to an extrudedaluminum trim plate. The panelassembly consists of two panelhalves ultrasonically weldedtogether, no hardware is visible.The Trim/Panel is attached to thehousing using invisible torsionsprings, no hardware is visible.The “EXIT” letters are silkscreened onto the acrylic, using aLED frequency matched paint.Each letter is outlined with a 1/8”groove. The standard trim finishis Brushed Aluminum, brightdipped to stop noticeable fingerprints. Other trim finishes areavailable, see ordering chartbelow.Approvals/Warranty:UL924 listed,Life safety NFPA101, NEC/OSHA, New York Cityapproved. LED illuminatorwarranted for 25 years, chargercovered by 3 year warranty,NiCad batteries covered by 10year warranty, 3 years complete,7 years prorated.
