To change the colour of a carnation we need water, red

food colouring and a white carnation. Mix a few drops of

red food colouring with the water. Put the carnation in the

water and watch the flower change from white to pink and

red. The stem of the flower "drinks" up the water and

provides it to the leaves and flowers.
