NEW HDR AND IMRT TREATMENT
Dear Friends, Colleagues and Survivors,
Thank you so much for participating in next Sunday’s 23rd
annual Care for Cancer Walk. This event has a longstanding history in our community, touching the lives of so many individuals and families who are affected by cancer. With your help, we continue to make a difference in the lives of so many people.
Over the past few weeks, I have had the privilege of reading memorials and team tributes as they come into the Foundation office. I am moved by the sentiment shared by teams such as “Lab for Lo,” which is walking this year in honor of Lorraine Duggan, a longtime Holy Family employee who passed away from cancer earlier this year. Or individuals who submitted touching testimonials to the care received at Holy Family. I encourage you to take a moment to read through this tribute book and hope you are as touched as I am by the many messages.
Thanks to your generosity, we are well on our way to meet our goal of raising $500,000 by the end of 2009. The funds that we raise enable our team of caregivers to continue providing advanced diagnostic and treatment options like the newly established lung clinic and the Trilogy Stereotactic system coming later this year – as well as access to clinical trials.
We would also like to thank Holy Family’s Men’s Guild and Women’s Auxiliary who work hard year round to raise money to benefit the ongoing advancement of cancer care in the Merrimack Valley. This year alone the Guild and Auxiliary have raised over $150,000 for the William L. Lane Cancer Management Center.
Through the participation of individuals and families across the Merrimack Valley and with the support of community sponsors like Trinity Ambulance, New England Radiation Therapy Association and Dr. Santos Shetty, this walk embraces the spirit of caring while allowing Holy Family Hospital to continue to provide exceptional cancer care.
I greatly appreciate your support on this important day and everyday. See you next Sunday, September 28th.
Warm regards,
Catherine PhilbinDirector of Development
