Enjoy a taste of the townand fun for all at the nextbig food and river festivalMORE than just a food festival,Cardigan’s River and Food Fes-tival keeps visitors busy all daylong with things to watch and doon the water in a perfect locationbeside the Teifi Estuary, as well asthe best spread of food and drinkin West Wales.It has always been this combina-

tion of food and the river that hasmade the festival so successfuland kept people coming back yearafter year to celebrate the RiverTeifi and the diversity of foodgrown, made or prepared in thearea. There is lots of food on offerincluding a variety of cheese, or-ganic meat and vegetables, bread,cakes, ice creams, drinks and thevery best of local fresh crabs andlobsters. An amazing array ofcooked food is also available forvisitors to sit and eat in a river-

side food court.Cookery demonstrations are

among the most popular of eventsat the festival. This year the chefsfeatured include Master ChefGareth John, the Slow Food Am-bassador Chef for Wales, WayneDelve a past winner of S4C Mas-terchef, Gareth Moore a talentedyoung chef from Cardigan, andlocal baker Vicky North, whosefame has been rapidly growingthroughout West Wales during thepast few years . Vicky will also berunning real bread pizza and pas-ta workshops for children.With boat rides, Celtic Longboat

races, demonstrations of rivercraft, including the Teifi Coraclesand an RNLI rescue demonstra-tion, together with the annual

Duck Race, the river will be busyall day. There will also be a fullprogramme of entertainment fea-turing musicians, dancers and en-tertainers and a Maritime Herit-age exhibition. Children can alsoenjoy a range of art and craft ac-tivities with Small World Theatre,join one of the play sessions orintroduce themselves to the Welshlanguage with CERED.

A range of high quality localarts & craft products are also onoffer in the craft marquee.The event takes place on August
