Our Mission

Our mandate is; At CMHA Toronto Branch we work with people who have experienced mental illness or psychiatric disabilities, their families and other members of our diverse community.

Who Are We ?

We were established in 1918 under the name of Canadian National Committee for Mental Hygiene (CNCMH)

In 1950 the name was changed to the Canadian Mental Health Association

About us.

There are now 7 locations across Canada.

Our organization was originally designed to promote more community based programming which is more convenient for clients.

What Programs do we Offer?

Access and InformationProviding information about mental health issues, services, whether the request comes from the individual or family.

Case ManagementA person that helps build a trusting and supportive relationship with their client and family to provide the support and resources needed.

Cross Cultural InitiativePrograms which recognize and value the diversity of the community. Some programs include: rehabilitation action plan, Women’s wellness groups, working together: across cultures, Healthy living groups, Education workshops.

Early InterventionWorks to enhance the recovery of young people, ages 16- 34 who have shown signs of early psychosis
