CALL FOR APPLICATIONS A.Y.

2020/21

Erasmus+ Programme• Erasmus+ offers Unibs’ students at all levels the chance to

spend a semester or academic year abroad with full recognition of the activities.

• Students can choose between more than 150 partner universities (list on the call webpage)

Erasmus+ scholarships• The Erasmus+ scholarship is of EUR 250,00 o 300,00 per month

depending on the cost of living in the assigned host country (see list in the call)

• Unibs offers an additional scholarship to all winners based on family income (ISEE certification) from a minimum of 180,00 EUR to max650,00 EUR per month

• 85% of the total amount of the scholarship will be transferred afterarrival at destination, the remaining 15% after the return at Unibs.

• If you are benefitting from the regional «Diritto allo studio» scholarship you will keep it while abroad with a little increase.

• If you are benefitting from free meals at Unibs, you will get the valuein euro together with the scholarship

Erasmus+ call

• All students enrolled in a degree course in Unibs can apply(undergraduate, postgraduate, doctorate)

• Requirements:

- Weighted average mark (media ponderata) greater than or equal to the value in the list attached to the call (valori soglia media ponderata)

- Good knowledge of the English language and possiblyanother European language

Calcolo del punteggio

The ranking list will take into account the weighted average mark, years of enrollment and credits obtained by November 30th 2019

Students enrolled in the 1° year of a Master’s degree course willbe ranked based on their undergraduate career (at Unibs or abroad).

If graduated in other Italian or foreign universities the score will be calculated based on the graduation grade "normalized to the unit" and multiplied by 0.88.

Destination preferences

• The host university will be assigned based on the position of

the student in the ranking list and the requirements of the

partner universities.

• The 5 preferences the student can express when applying are

an indication only. Commissions can assign to a different

destination if they find it more suitable.

Admission criteria• Residing in Italy (with a valid permesso di soggiorno);

• Enrollment in A.Y. 2019/20 in a Bachelor’s/ Master’s degree or Doctorate course atUnibs;

• Not having benefited of another Erasmus+ scholarship for more than 12 months in thesame degree cycle (24 for single-cycle courses);

• Having aquired at least half of the credits you were supposed to aquire at 30/11/2019

• Having aquired a weighted average mark higher than or equal to the value detailed in thelist attached (valori soglia media ponderata) at 30/11/2019;

• Having an adequate knowledge of the language of the countries of preference

Language competences

ATTENTION! Language knowledge is a pre-condition of themobility and not its goal.

BEFORE you express your preferences in the online application, makesure you know the language of the country of preference

Besides English, most host universities will require the knowledge of thelocal language (French, Spanish, German)

For countries where they speak less common languages (Greece, Slovenia,Czech Republic, Sweden, Denmark, Poland, Romania, Portugal, etc.)English is the common language and only requirement.

ATTENTION!

At the beginning of the application procedure, you will be asked toindicate your language knowledge (in English and/or anotherEuropean language).

After the publication of the ranking list, all admitted candidates willtake a free language assessment test. Based on the test’s resultsthey will be assigned to a destination.

The tests will be held in February, more info soon.

Some restrictions

• The duration of the mobility has to be of at least 3 months (90

days) and max 12 months except in cases of force majeur

(recognised by the National Agency);

• Students need to aquire at least 12 ECTS credits per

semester while abroad or they will need to give the

scholarship back to Unibs.

How to apply

• Follow the instructions on the online application form (fromyou personal page)

• You can indicate max 5 preferences of destination (assigningnumbers from 1 to 5)

• Attachments are NOT MANDATORY. You can attach whateveryou think is useful for your evaluation (language certificates,etc.) or don’t attach anything.

How to apply

ATTENTION!

While choosing your preferred destinations, please take into account:

The academic offer of the partner university and its compatibilitywith your study plan at UNIBS;

Language requirements of the preferred host institutions;

Deadlines of the host institution, academic calendar and immigrationrequirements;

It is very useful in order to make your choice to meet your Erasmus+Academic coordinator (see list on the website)

Thesis research abroad- ErasmusStudents can also join the Erasmus+ programme for their finalthesis research at one of the listed partner university. Togetherwith the application, they should upload:

• Support letter from supervising professor at Unibs;

• Invitation letter from host university

• Detailed description of the research topic.

They will only express their preference for the agreed hostinstitution.

Operational suggestion1) Before applying, the student should check out the partner universities’ websites, in order to

gather all useful information;

2) Partner universities are listed in an Excel file attached to the call. For Engineering courses: you

first need to check what ISCED code belongs to your course, then check out only the

destinations paired with that code.

3) You need to check the available courses at the preferred universities and see the

correspondance to your study plan. For each foreign course, you need to check the content,

number of credits, hours of lesson in class.

Double degres programmesDouble Degree programmes available:

• Universidad de Almeria (Laurea in Automazione Industriale)

• Université Sorbonne (LM Automazione Industriale)

DEM Double Degree ProgrammesAnother Erasmus+ call will be published for these programmesnext Spring.

Students enrolled in the laurea magistrale in Management (Percorso in inglese in International Business):

• Hochschule Mainz (Germany) – 1st year in Mainz, 2° year in Brescia

• Nottingham Trent University (UK) - 1st year in Brescia, 2°semester of the 2° year in Nottingham

• Universitat de Valencia (ES)- 3° anno triennale EGA e 1°magistrale a Valencia

What happens next

- Acceptance of the destination (around February 2020)

- Student nomination at the host institution (March- May 2020for first semester and academic year, Sept- Oct for secondsemester)

- Student application (Apr-Jul 1S and AY, Oct-Nov 2S)

- Hand out the documents to the International Student MobilityOffice at least 2 weeks before departures
