The Yeel i rr ie Uranium deposit i s a carnotite ore body hosted by va l ley-fil l (groundwater) ca lcrete that i s spatial ly and genetical ly re lated to Cretaceous - Tertiary palaeodrainage channels .

Located towards the northern margin of the Archaean Yi lgarn Craton in the North Eastern Goldfields, WA, i t i s the world’s largest surficia l uranium deposit with reserves of approximately 50,000tons of U3O8.

The ca lcrete bodies developed atop a permeable c lay-quartz a l luv ium that fi l ls the paleochannels which have been subsequent ly bur ied in a l luv ium.

Exploring for poorly exposed calcrete

The 100 plus bands of the airborne hyperspectral scanner, HyMap, provide a means of mapping specific minerals and mineral assemblages related to surficial uranium ore deposition. High spatial resolution (3-5m) and a versatile air-based platform make mapping from deposit to district

scale a quick, cost-effective choice.

HyMap hyperspectral data maps large areas (~1000km2 per day) at high spatial reso lution (~3-5m). Imagery and mineral map products are turn-key with quick turn-around and a ta i lored, thematic focus for your targets and mineral systems. Contact us today for a no-obl igation

Located approximately 80km southwest of the Yeel i rr ie deposit in the eastern Murchinson region of WA; found in the 1970’s by BP Minerals v ia shal low carnotite shows

Mineral ised zones are associated with the val ley ca lcretes of the Lake Mason drainage system and formed over s imi lar granito ids to those at Yeel i rr ie

Hyperspectra l data reveals : - reg ional c lay formation and deposition (Hal loysite, Kaol inite and Nontronite ) -d istinctive paleochannel deposition of su l fates (Gypsum ) , c lays (Mg-rich Smectite ) and carbonates (Dolomite and Calc ite )

“Mg-rich smectites at-surface indicate obscured, uranium-rich dolomitic

bodies at depth; only HyMap can map these alteration systems. ”
