What country is it from? Is the transcript from a High School,
Institution of Higher Learning or University? Was the student in a specific degree
program? Did the student earn a degree?

AWARDING CREDIT • Determine level of education by
establishing primary, secondary and tertiary benchmarks
• Establish whether or not the institution is authorized to grant terminal degrees (ex: BS, MS, or Higher Diplomas)
• Review years, semesters, quarters, and/or hours attended. CSUN awards 3 units of credit for 45 hours.
PLACEMENT Minimize credits earned at vocational
or 2-year institutions. All credits from universities can be
accepted (both Lower division and Upper division).
Grant credit for GE’s when possible. Any credits specific to the major or
minor is approved by the department via an electronic Substitution/Waiver form.
