Annex B Connection Efficiency Protection Mechanisms withinMobile Networks (Informative Section)Mobile networks operators will implement protection mechanisms within their mobilenetworks to protect their networks from any harm caused by inefficient IoT Devices and IoTApplications.This annex lists some of the protection mechanisms that network operators may use, usuallyas a ¡®last resort¡¯, within their networks and describes the impact that such mechanisms mayhave on the IoT service.It is recommended that IoT Device makers and IoT Application developers be proactive andimplement the requirements listed in this document rather than rely on the networkoperator¡¯s protection mechanisms. Implementing protection mechanisms within the devicewill mean the IoT Device maker and IoT Service Provider are best placed to monitor andaddress device and service performance issues without their services being impacted byNetwork Operator actions.
