Columbine Shooting ProjectBy:Kolt Metje

Thomas Warren

ConclusionThe overall conclusion of this movie is that

you need to get facts straight before you start accusing people of causing problems.

We also need to stop accusing guns for being the main problem. What we need to do is find what is causing these people to become so violent and stop it, not get rid of guns altogether.

The ShootingThe shooting took place on April 20, 1999 which was when 2 high school students went into Columbine and killed 12 students an a teacher. Also injuring 21 students along with the attack. After Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold had finished the shooting they committed suicide.

Michael Moore's Situation on gunsMichael Moore isn’t against gun control because he is part of the N.R.A. but he wants enforced gun safety after the massacre at Columbine.

Techniques Mr. Moore UsedAuthor’s Bias

Evidence

Tone

Author’s BiasMr. Moore went and interviewed many

intellectual people who were gun fanatics on their opinion with gun control.

Michael also only presents statistics that make his points more believable.

Michael Moore had grown up using guns and is a member of the NRA.

EvidenceThere were many people that blamed Marilyn

Manson for the cause of the shooting. They based this on the simple fact that the two shooters had listened to Marilyn's music.

It is also quite easy for people to buy guns in Michigan. So easy in fact, that they can buy guns and ammunition easily at their local Kmart.

ToneMichael Moore’s tone is sad in this movie.

When he heard about the six year old shooting the other he was upset.

He was also incredulous that you can get a brand new gun just from opening a bank account.

He tried to add a bit of humor in this movie but the topic did not make it work out well.

Was Authors bias an effective aspect or not.We do not think this aspect was effective.Michael Moore is an NRA member, but in this

movie he seemed to be going against his groups ideals. He was very disapproving on how it was so easy to get guns everywhere. He may love them but he went against basically everything he signed up for in the NRA.

Was evidence good or bad.The evidence in this movie was pretty

terrible. They (the accusers) had based why the

shootings in columbine had come about on the fact that the two teenagers listened to Marilyn Manson and no other facts. This cannot be the real reason why. Their evidence was poor and not helpful.

Was the tone believable.Michael Moore’s tone made this movie very

believable. If Michael Moore had used a happy tone, no

one would have believed him about how serious these events are. It is good that he used a sadder tone that conveyed the seriousness about these events.
