Applying Adverbs & Adjectives
Example of an adjective use
The boy with the red balloon meets the girl in the blue balloon.
Why we need AdjectivesIf adjectives are not applied, one’s writing description can seem rather
dull and boring.
Paint the better picture with the adjective brush!!!
The small cat snuggles with the sleepy brown
dog.
The red clown yawns and reveals a scary case of dental work.
Adverbs!!
• Is an open word class whose members can express time, manner, place or degree
(modifies adjective), among other meanings. • Adverbs can modify an adjective (ex. very puny), another adverb ( super quietly) a verb
(John walked slowly)
Example of Adverb
Dr. X viciously attacks Mr.A with a variety of weapons.
A young Bill Clinton shakes president John F. Kennedy’s hand eagerly.
