ACNEAcne is the occurrence of inflamed or infected sebaceous glands in the skin; in particular, a condition characterized by red pimples on the face, prevalent chiefly among teenagers.

CAUSES

The cause of Acne is unknown. Although, doctors believe it is caused from an increase in hormones.

SYMPTOMSCommon symptoms of acne are lesions on the

skin commonly called pimples or zits.

Common treatments of acne usually include over-the-counter medicines or a variety of topical ointments with ingredients like benzoyl peroxide.

Vitiligo is a skin condition in which there is a loss of brown color (pigment) from areas of skin, resulting in irregular white patches that feel like normal skin.

CAUSESThe Cause of Vitiligo is not known, but doctors believe people inherit a group of 3 genes that make them susceptable to depigmentation.

Vitiligo is characterized by common a focal pattern limited to one or only a few areas. The focal pattern has segmental patches that develop on one side of the body, and occurs symmetrically on the other side.

• Harlequin Icthyosis is the most severe form of congenital ichthyosis. It is characterized by a thickening in the keratin layer in fetal human skin.

CAUSESHarlequin Icthyosis is caused by a genetic mutationin the skin cells.

SYMPTOMSInfants with this condition are born with very hard, thick skin

covering most of their bodies. The skin forms large, diamond shaped plates that are separated by deep cracks. The ears and nose are poorly developed or not there, and the eyelids are inverted.

TREATMENT

The most notable treatment of Harlequin Icthyosis is the drug Isotetrinoin, although the person that lived the longest with this disease was 26.
