The Royal Botanic Gardens Cranbourne cover an area of
approximately 370 hectares comprising natural bushland, open
grassland, walking tracks and picnic areas. It was established to allow
visitors to enjoy and learn about the diversity and uniqueness of
Australian plants and the Australian bush.
A former sand mine the Australian Gardens is a new 18 hectare
garden showcasing some of Australia’s remarkable plant life. Stage 1
of the gardens, encompassing 8 hectares opened in 2006 .
The Australian Gardens Stage 2 comprise a variety of landscape
themes, relating to our urban and coastal environments.
Lily Pad Bridge is an artistic bridge, linking Elisabeth Murdoch
Promenade and Gondwana Garden Path and marks the completion of
Stage 2 of the Australian Gardens project which will open to the pub-
lic in October 2012

Surrey Dive was originally a clay quarry to manufacture bricks and kiln fired products. The quarry was eventually converted to a swimming hole, where regular swimming competitions took place but was decommissioned in the 1970’s when it became unhygienic as a swimming facility. The majority of the hole depth was filled in and is now only 1-1.5 metres deep. The area is now well utilised by the general public and the model boat club.

The Construction of a wetlands in the Doug Dean reserve forms an integral component of the extensive flood mitigation and drainage works carried out by the Ballarat City Council over the past 12 months. The wetlands play a key role in assisting with stormwater flow detentions and reduce the impact of flooding downstream, in particular, the local Primary School and surrounding streets. It also treats inflowing storm water, assisting in the removal of sediment and nutrients which will improve water quality flowing into natural streams.

Mitchells Run is a residential neighbourhood located in Doreen in Melbourne’s northern growth corridor. As part of the developmental plan to maintain the natural topography , remnant river gums and water-ways, Entracon is working with Dacland Management to create a Wetland that will not only enhance the liveability of the estate but also serve as a functional stormwater and floodway water catchment system.

Annual Hearing Tests
August 2012 was the month for the annual hearing tests and Entracon is happy to say that all employees passed with no-one suffering loss of hearing from workplace exposure. These tests were carried out in accordance with Regulation 3.2 Part 11 of the OHS (Noise) Regulations 2007.
