• There are several names for Britain: Britain, Great Britain, the United Kingdom (the UK). The oficial name is the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

• There are four countries in the UK: England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. England is the largest part of the UK. • The Republic of Ireland is not part of

the UK – it is an indenpendet country.
