RIVER DEPTH ALLOWS USE FULL LENGTH
Water traffic can easily move the full length of the Ouachita River with the completion of the US Corps of Engineer nine-foot channel project, as well as up many miles of tributaries
With the incorporation of the new lock and dams the Ouachita and its tributaries have a total of 373 miles of nine-foot channel depth and 296 miles of four-foot depth
In the Jonesville Pool this represents 242 miles of nine-foot depth and 168 miles of four-foot. The Ouachita River accounts for 107 miles of the nine-foot; the Tensas River 69 miles; Beouf River, 32 miles; Bayou Macon, 13 miles; LITTLE RIVER, 13 MILES; and Bayou LaFourche, 8 miles
