Who are Brand Ambassadors? A person who is hired by an organization or company to represent a brand in a positive

light. They help to increase brand awareness and sales. The brand ambassador is meant to embody the corporate identity in appearance,

demeanour, values and ethics.

Why Company needs Brand Ambassadors?Few reasons that a company is required to have the right Brand Ambassador:

Brand Loyalty Increases. As the Fans have a tendency to follow.

Amitabh Bachchan & Madhuri Dixit – Maggi Case

In 2015, Maggi noodles brand ambassador Amitabh Bachchan and Madhuri Dixit defended themselves for endorsing a brand that was found to contain lethal chemicals.

They defended themselves by remaining neutral towards the brand in the public and ending the relationship with the brand silently so as to be safe in the eyes of public.

Though Maggi has come out again with new versions of noodles that are safe to be consumed after repeated tests, there former ambassadors are yet to revive their loyalty towards the brand.

Aamir Khan – Snapdeal Case In the end of the year 2015, The

Famous Bollywood Actor, Aamir Khan had made a comment on the Perceived Intolerance in the country, due to which Snapdeal had to face giant criticism.

Snapdeal hence decided not to renew its contract with Aamir Khan.

To add to this, ‘Incredible India’ tourism campaign also terminated Aamir Khan’s contract, and replaced him with Amitabh Bachchan.

Tiger Woods – Gillette Case World’s highest paid Sportsman, Tiger

Woods was involved with Gillette, Nike and various other famous brands since the late 90’s.

In the span of 2 weeks, his image deteriorated, because of a rift between Woods and his wife. His wife filed a law suit against him for his alleged infidelity rumours.

As a result of his bad public image, most of the brands started replacing him with other top sporting celebrities (Courtesy: Social Media in US)
