This program is available to all students from K-8th Grade

Dual Language/Immersion-(DLI) is an established program which began at Boudreaux during the 2005-2006 school year.

What is a Dual Language/Immersion?

This program is developed to ensure that students become bilingual, biliterate in Spanish/English & have cultural competence while learning with grade level material.

• The need for more bilingual people is growing in the USA. Dual language programs give English monolingual students an opportunity to become truly bilingual and biliterate.

• The Dual Language program provides a more effective way to meet the needs of our English Language Learners (ELLs) to improve academic performance.

Why Choose a Dual Language Program?

• Research outlines the benefits of DLI for students, including:• higher academic performance,• greater cognitive development in mental flexibility,

creativity, and divergent thinking,• high levels of proficiency in the target language and

in English,• positive cross-cultural attitudes and behaviors, and• enhanced career opportunities.
