Celebration of Learning It has been most pleasing to hear of
positive comments on the adjustments to student reports. Our
staff have a very deep working knowledge of each child’s current
ability and the next steps necessary to further develop their
learning experience. I’m sure you have found time to reflect
on your child’s achievements and celebrate their growth. In
the Playground Nature play is a great way for kids to connect
through exploration and curiosity. At Box Hill North, we have
encouraged students to actively play in the luxury of our spacious
grounds. The Buildings and Grounds sub-committee will start
mapping out our nature play space to enhance the outdoor experience
for everyone. Tomorrow, we will be cleaning up the play area,
removing many of the sticks and pieces currently being used.
Our staff and student leaders are working on a replacement of this
material that will still meet the purpose of exploration and
curiosity, but with a safer approach for all. Thank
You A heart-felt thank you to all members of our community.
The compassion, courage, creativity and ambition to get through
some particularly difficult circumstances caused by the world
pandemic, places us well for Term 3 and beyond. Since the
return from lockdown 4.0, it has been really pleasing to see
students get on with their learning and friendships. As
restrictions continue to ease, I look forward to seeing our adult
community return to embrace the many great things happen at Box
Hill North. A big thank you to everyone for keeping the
important things important, and for being flexible around many of
the necessary changes. On behalf of my staff, I wish you and
your family a safe and enjoyable holiday. Courage There’s a ‘buzz’
in the school grounds with Charlie participating in this year’s
World’s Greatest Shave. Charlie will lose his locks during
assembly and it’s not too late to get behind his courage to make a
difference. Sorry to say Charlie, your hair will soon look
like mine! At least yours will grow back!!!
David Pelosi Principal

Dear Parents, At OSHClub our motto is “Happy Children Learning” and
we create a stimulating environment to ensure all children are
engaged while doing things they love.
Every session includes both a passive (e.g., cooking, art, reading)
and an active (e.g., sports, games, competitions) activity to cater
for the wide variety of children we have here. "Let's Cook
Together” - Our cooking club is back. Thanks to the mums and
dads who have sent their secret recipes for our cooking club. We
will be cooking all these recipes with our children from next week.
This week we cooked a special recipe sent by the Odwyer family
"Pizza Puff Pastry”. I am proud to share that we received 5-star
rating from Whitehorse City Councils Environment Health
Unit..
Our sustainabilty club is looking for some stick insects to
take care of at OSHCLUB. We appreciate any kind of donation by the
families. We also look forward to starting a gardening project with
our children. We plan to learn about composting too. We have set up
a recycling station for our children with open ended resources to
explore.
Holiday Programs now open! With the school holidays coming soon,
now is the time to begin thinking about the holiday program options
you have available to you.
By utilising an OSHClub holiday program, you are ensuring that your
child has a great day as they explore different themes! Enrolling
your child into a holiday program also means consistent routines
and expectations to help your child settle in, and less paperwork
for you to handle, as your child is already enrolled with
OSHClub.
If you need any assistance completing this process, you are more
than welcome to pop into any before or after care session and I
will provide one-on-one assistance. All the holiday programs are
open Monday-Friday for both weeks of the holidays.
End of Term- altered OSHC running times As school finishes at 2:30
on Friday 25th June, OSHClub will be operating from 2:30pm to
ensure continuity of care for those children attending. We will
have our usual games and activities on offer as well as some party
games to ensure children have a great time! Term 3 OSHClub
dates Before and after school care will be running from the first
day back next term (Monday 12th July). We will be open at our usual
time of 7am for Before School Care (BSC) until closing at 6pm for
After School Care (ASC). Next Terms goal: To
learn to appreciate others and make new friends! Showing
appreciation enables us to connect with others. Our weekly
planner is always on display in the OSHC room and is changed every
week. If you are not sure where, feel free to ask and we will point
you in the correct direction! Suggestions are always welcome-
simply write them into our reflection journal or tell Jiawen or
Mandy! See you next term! Mandy and Jiawen
