Concept MapThe first step of writing a book is coming up

with an ideaOne of the best strategies for brainstorming

and developing ideas is by concept mapping

OutlineAfter choosing a topic and generating

enough ideas relating to that topic it is a good idea to plan out what order things are going to happen in your book

A good way to organize the general plot and order of details for your book is by creating an outline

DraftOnce you have the general outline for your

story it is time to start writing.While writing your first draft be sure to

include details but remember that you can change things later if necessary.

StoryboardAfter having your story written you must

make sure that the text and pictures are going to fit in the number of pages for your book.

Storyboards are basically layouts of what is going to go on each page of your book.

There are many different ways of creating storyboards and you can click the button below to see a video that gives an idea of what some look like.

Peer ReviewAfter you have your draft written and your

story laid out with some sketches of the illustrations, it is important to receive feedback on your book.

Having peers read and comment on your book is helpful in the editing process. They can give you tips on what they like and what they would like to see changed.

EditAfter completing your first draft of your

story and getting feedback on it from others it is time to make any necessary changes to your work.

These changes can include adding detail, fixing spelling mistakes, and rearranging parts of your story.

It is important to make any necessary changes before completing your final draft.

IllustrateAfter you complete your writing it is time to

create pictures to go along with it.You can illustrate your story multiple ways.Choose a medium comfortable that you are

with, whether paint, markers, colored pencils, or crayons.

your storyboard to put the illustrations with the text.
