Meanwhile Admiral Ximenes was confident that his broadside of 48’s would reduce the Saucy Gladys to a memory – if she came close enough

• As the pirate closed, the Santissima gave it everything she had in one mighty blast

And proved that ‘to every action there is an equal and opposite reaction’

• Stunned and relieved Calico Jack waded ashore and went off to find a repair yard - leaving the loot where it lay
