Battle Tested Principles of the Spiritual Warfare

Certain books of the Bible are loaded with

Revelations of Truth in terms of Human

Experience.

Psalms is one of those books:

24x’s in the Psalms the figure of a “Rock”

appears!

The “Rock” in Psalms = Petra

This is the Mountain Fortress that the Jewish

remnant hides during the Tribulation

Rev 12:13 And when the dragon saw that he was cast

unto the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought

forth the man child.

Rev 12:14 And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is

nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.

Rev 12:15 And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the

flood.

Rev 12:16 And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up

the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth.

Rev 12:17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the

testimony of Jesus Christ.

The “Rock” of Petra pictures our security in Christ!

Psalm 18:2 The LORD is my rock, and my

fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in

whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation,

and my high tower.

Psalm 61:2-3 From the end of the earth will I cry unto

thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I.

For thou hast been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy.

The “Rock”

How does the “Rock” in Psalms apply

to Israel’s Future?

Matt. 24:15-21

Hosea 2:15 And I will give her her vineyards from thence, and the valley of Achor for a door of hope: and she shall sing there, as in the days of her youth, and as in the day when she came up out of the land of Egypt.

Isaiah 63:1 Who is this that cometh from

Edom, with dyed garments from Bozrah? this that is glorious in

his apparel, travelling in the greatness of his strength? I that

speak in righteousness, mighty to save.

Even though God is Doctrinally talking to Israel, He is also our “Rock” spiritually!

He Nourishes and Protects us from the

world’s attacks!

1John 4:4 Ye are of God, little children, and have

overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

Psalm 19:14 Let the words of my mouth,

and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy

sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.

Are You Standing on the “Rock?”

Matthew 7:24 Therefore whosoever heareth

these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him

unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:

Matthew 7:25 And the rain descended, and

the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that

house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.

I Chronicles 16:7-12 gives us 9 Battle Tested Principles so we can be
