Relics of the Passion Palm Sunday, March 20, 2016
2:00 PM
Relics of the True Cross and Christ’s Passion will be pre-sented at 2:00 PM in the church. This event allows partici-pants of all ages in any level of spirituality to deepen and grow in their faith. A unique collection of relics has been
brought together in a program of meditations, music and prayers commemorat-ing the events of the Passion of Our Lord, Jesus Christ. Rare collections such as the Relics of the Passion are generally seen only in Rome or the Holy Land. We encourage you to join us in this Year of Mercy for a special opportunity that is sure to touch your heart and connect you with the roots of your faith.
Prayer for the Canonization of The Venerable Michael J. McGivney
God, our Father, protector of the poor, and defender of the widow and orphan, you called your priest, Father Michael J. McGivney, to be an apostle of Christian family life and to lead the young to the generous service of their neighbor. Through the example of his life and virtue may we follow your Son, Jesus Christ, more closely, fulfilling his commandment of charity and building up his Body which is the Church. Let the inspiration of your servant prompt us to greater confidence in your love so that we may continue his work of caring for the needy and the out-cast. We humbly ask that you glorify your servant Father Michael J. McGivney on earth according to the design of your holy will. Through his intercession, grant the favor, I now present (here make your request). Through Christ Our Lord. Amen. Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be...

Learn to give and receive forgiveness, to forgive others, to forgive yourself. We invite you to join us as we participate in a parish wide program, Doors of Mercy. This is not a bible study, there is no written homework, just eight simple sessions that will allow you to experience God’s hope, healing and loving mercy in this once-in-a-lifetime program. Even if you’ve never participated before, please, we invite each and every one of you to join us – you’ll be so glad you did. The first session begins on Thurs-day, April 7th at 7 PM. Register forms are available at all entrances.

This Wednesday, March 9 Fr. Thomas Macdonald, of the Archdiocese of Boston will preside at a Holy Hour and offer a reflection.
Fr. Macdonald is Parochial Vicar at St Ann and St Brendan Parishes in Dor-chester MA. He is a classmate and good friend of Fr. Casey from the North American College in Rome. He

The following Wednesday, March 16, Fr John Connaugh-ton, Parochial Vicar at St Thomas More Church in Darien and Director of Vocations for the Diocese of Bridgeport, will also preside at a Holy Hour and offer a reflection. Both these fine, young priests have much to offer us. We thank them for accepting our invitation to visit the Basil-ica. Please join us for these special Lenten events and make the most of the last two weeks of lent 2016!
