Main Message
• Fall is the best time to begin backyard composting
• Ample supply of leaves which provide the predominant supply of “Browns” (dry, carbon-rich material)
• Add “Greens (food waste, grass, nitrogen-rich material) over the year
Recipe
• Add one bucket of Greens to 3 buckets of Browns
• Add water to moisten (damp as wrung-out sponge)
• Turn (at least) monthly
• Harvest in 12-16 months
