Homework
Homework is designed to meet your student’s needs for practicing what they are learning
Homework is not graded, but valued as effort in the report card.
Homework is packaged according to the unit they are studying.
The math textbook (enVision) and some supplemental learning (DiscoveryEducation) is accessible from home
Accelerated Standards & Grading
We begin evaluating students according to grade level standard, then extend instruction according to individual need. A report card revision is coming. We will share this with you in November.
What is Standard then?
Student progress is measured using Common Core standards in Math and Literacy and supplemented with WA state EALR/GLEs for Social Studies/Science.
In my Math classwork and Literacy classwork documents, you may see a standard (code) attached to the work such as 6.EE.1, you can see the standards at http://www.corestandards.org/read-the-standards/
