Kangaroos, Koalas, and Platypuses are the three most known animals of Australia.

Crocodiles are cold blooded and have a body temperature similar to the surrounding air, land or water.

The Kookaburra's rolling, laughing call is one of the best-known sounds in the animal world. The birds raise a wild chorus of crazy laughter as they go to roost in the treetops at dusk, and again wake everyone within hearing just as dawn breaks, so regularly that in the hinterlands of Australia they are know as the "bushman's clock."

Wombats are large burrowing mammals found only in Australia.

Vegemite is a thick dark spread for bread and toasts or used as a flavor to soups. It is extremely popular in Australia ever since the beginning of the 20th century. It is made from the yeast leftovers during the process of producing beer. It is also very nutritious and offers vitamins B1, B2 and Niacin.

Australia's 11 million square kilometer fishing zone is the third largest in the world and allows for bountiful access to seafood which significantly influences Australian cuisine.
