Atelier Awash is a clothing label for men based on the concept of classic and timeless garments inspired by the lifestyle of contem-porary explorers of cultures. Each garment shows a relaxed yet elegant approach to style with a particular attention to detail and crafts-manship.

Atelier Awash's philosophy embodies a strong commitment to making a positive impact on environment and society using exclusively certified organic fabrics and bringing ethics into action in all its business practices. Atelier Awash struggles to be active in the many different dimensions of sustainability ranging from creating a fully ethical and organic supply-chain, all the way to the low mileage, limited edition heritage approach.

In the rapidly evolving field of environment conscious production, Atelier Awash is persuaded that constant experimentation for new so-lutions is the only possible way in an endless process of innovation that fosters new inspirations.

And that's why presently in the collection you can find styles that put the emphasis on various issues: use of organic certified fibers, social improvement, support of traditional craftsmanship, promotion of low water consumption crops, use of accessories made out of waste mate-rials like coconut shell buttons, horn and corozo, use of the latest g.o.t.s., vegetal and mineral dyeing techniques, use of reclaimed, recycled or up-cycled materials.

All of the fabrics in the collection are organic and custom woven in Tuscany exclusively for Atelier Awash. The collection is entire-ly manufactured and garment-dyed in Italy in small scale, family run laboratories as they are the only ones who can slowly carry out the delicate crafting of these special garments with the same spirit they were designed… meaningfully.

It took us two trips to Japan and endless denim research to realize that the only way to have our perfect organic denim would be to have it custom-woven in Italy. This is how our favorite heavy-weight, indigo-dyed denim fabric came to life.The raw look of this „one-wash trouser“ allows you to write your history on it without struggling with heavy shrinkage. Needless to say we don‘t like fake bleachings and believe your denim should fade on you overtime. The signature fifth pocket is reminiscent of the one on our typical „one night in Tokyo“ blazer.

Hand-wowen scarfes produced on small wooden looms with the authentic ancient technique that uses hand-spun organic cotton and silk. Only a few hundred pieces per year can be produced. Dyes used for the silk are vegetal and optained from items such as flowers, roots, berries and bark (including vegetal indigo). Atelier Awash sup-ports an Ethiopian fair trade farm dedicated exclusively to the production of this unique pieces. Size and color can vary according to harvest & artisanal craftsmanship.

This long sleeves t-shirt is the result of Atelier Awash’s experimentation in the unexplored territory of vegetal dye printing. Here we created a unique madder recipe to print the “We Are One” image as the start of a super-limited edition that will feature eve-ry time a different subject. Through this series of prints we wish to list the best things it was worth being on this planet for. And this first one refers to the enchanting memories we brought back from our trip to India where different beliefs blend together beautifully.
